Wet hair.
Seventy five pounds.
No explanation.
Just a hairdresser who clearly didn’t know what to do once the scissors came out.

I hear this story constantly. Clients who’ve been to multiple salons and left every single time with soaking wet curls because the stylist didn’t know how to finish the job.

That’s not a service. That’s neglect.
You wouldn’t do that to straight hair. You shouldn’t do it to curls either.
Every single person who sits in my chair leaves with their hair done. Dried. Styled. Ready to walk back into their life without having to fix it themselves.

I didn’t train in curls because I wanted to be a hairdresser.

I trained because I’m a mum.

A white mum to mixed race children, and I was not going to be the reason they grew up feeling like their hair was too hard or too much.
So I took a course.
Learned how to care for their texture properly. Fell completely in love with it. Ended up working in the salon. Then opened my own space.
Now I spend every day working with people who’ve been told their curls are unmanageable, unprofessional, difficult.
They’re not.
They’ve just been in the wrong hands.
