For My Dad
This week has been really tough. Losing my dad has brought up so many complicated feelings - sadness, confusion, and a kind of grief that’s hard to explain.
He wasn’t always present in my life, and our relationship wasn’t the best. There were missed moments, words left unsaid, and a distance that never quite closed. But with the help of some amazing people around me, l’ve been able to sit with those feelings and finally say it out loud: I’m sad.
I’m sad that you’re no longer here. I’m sad that we never had the relationship I wished for. And I’m sad that there’s no longer a future where we possibly could.
Grief is complicated, but it’s real — and so is love, even when it’s messy and imperfect. Rest easy, Dad.

Yesterday’s training with was a game-changer.
We focused on Afro-textured and Curly hair, and I loved every second of learning how to properly cut and style various textures to enhance their natural beauty.
 
Understanding how to work with different hair textures and curl patterns isn’t just a skill it’s a necessity.  As a HMU Trainee, there’s nothing more fulfilling than expanding my toolkit and I truly enjoyed mastering new techniques for precision shaping and curl pattern analysis to ensure every person leaves my chair feeling confident.
 
I’m feeling so inspired and so excited to continue my journey and keep evolving.
