So much going on and finding it hard work getting my paid job management to sort my shift pattern out properly far enough in advance....its a real battle...

I'm going to publish my salon days as much as I can and hopefully I can keep you all happy....

So here it is ladies and gents......

Time to officially break the news....

Two weeks today I will be closing the door on the salon and putting the shutter down for the last time....😔😪

As most of you know , business has never been the same since covid and over the last 12 to 6mths especially with the extortionate rise in electricity, water, insurance ect I have been really struggling.....
Adding the financial stress to the day to day pressure of running a salon single handedly it's all just become too much for me....
If all I had to do was turn up and do hair I would be staying but it's so much more than that...and it's a constant worry...

So I've taken a huge leap of faith and got myself a little part time paid job in a stunning shop called Rituals in the Trinity Centre in Leeds....
It's very scary but im looking forward to the challenge...

I'm not giving up my hairdressing completely as I'm just not ready to hang up my scissors just yet....

I am relocating my business to a little salon in Halton, a bit closer to home for me....
Renting a chair will cut down on overheads for me and allow me to continue doing a job I love 😍 ....

I'd like to take this opportunity to thanks every single client that's ever walked through this salon door, especially those of you who have continued to support me from the day I took over the salon back in 2004...

We all been through a lot together... your not just clients to me... your like family...and I've made some great friends over the years.....

I often feel being a hairdresser is a great privilege as I get to experience every part of you life with you...Good news, bad news and all the life events in-between.....

So for those of you I'm leaving behind, THANK YOU, and know you'll stay in my heart and mind for ever....

Saw this post and thought I’d share it with you all….

I gave into accepting card payments when reopening after covid as no one wanted to touching money.
Plus I felt I had to move with the times…
However, every time I accept a card payment I get charged for the privilege and therefore do not receive full payment for the work I have done…..
Without constantly putting my prices up to cover these charges I can not continue to cover them….so in the new year I will be reverting back to good old fashioned cash payments.
I fully understand this means remembering to take a trip to the cash machine but read the article below ,it may just give you something to think about.

Why should we pay cash everywhere with banknotes instead of a card?

- I have a £50 banknote in my pocket. I go to a restaurant and paying for dinner with it. The restaurant owner then uses the note to pay for the laundry. The laundry owner then uses the note to pay the barber. The barber will then use the note for shopping. After an unlimited number of payments, it will still remain a £50, which has fulfilled its purpose to everyone who used it for payment and the bank has jumped dry from every cash payment transaction made..

- But if I come to a restaurant and pay for dinner digitally - Card bank fees for my payment transaction charged to the seller are 3%, so around £1.50 and so the fee will be £1.50 for each further payment transaction or owner re laundry or payments of the owner of the laundry shop, or payments of the barber etc..... Therefore, after 30 transactions, the initial £50 will remain only £5 and the remaining £45 became the property of the bank thanks to all digital transactions and fees.

PS: Using Cash means More human interactions, more questions, more conversations about why cash needs to be everyone’s priority. No one needs to know where I shop, how much I spend and what I buy 🤷🏻‍♀️. I am not okay with a digital currency - no way 🚫

Not sure I could get away with charging this amount though,,,works out at about £72.00 an hour.....😳😲
Gosh I charge that for an entire colour and finish over 2 1/2 to 3hrs...🤔🤔🤔
