Shut the front door…. Did I really just confess to editing my photos?…
The real breaking news here is that everyone does it 👀 … but some people completely abuse the tools and over do it and create false representations of their work.
Editing your photos should be done so softly and be used to blur the background. Clean up the edges and ever so slightly change the contrast/brightness.
Swipe to see how LITTLE mine changes.
How do you know if your hairdresser loves what they’ve done?
Oh there’s signs…
-keeping you hostage for a photo shoot
-not being happy until the furniture is rearranged
-turning the lights off for the harsh artificial lighting to be banished
-the ring light comes out
-you get thrown around the salon, twisted left right up and down
Just kidding of course. But we things we have to do for those fabulous after shots 😫😂

I can’t believe that some self employed hairdressers don’t take annual leave!…
Full time workers get around 5 weeks off work. This isn’t for the fun of it, it’s because we need a rest.
It’s really not a flex working 52 weeks a year to be wealthy and not look after yourself in the meantime.
On the other hand, if you feel like you can’t take any time off due to outgoings. Working with people that specialise in profits/pricing is a priority you need. You can’t work all the hours in the world and come out with no income.
No excuses, you deserve time off to do whatever you like!
I used to feel guilty taking time off and not fitting that favourite client in, but I absolutely make sure I have plenty of time to myself now. I try aim for at least a week every quarter of the year ❤️💖❤️💖
Being a hairdresser really is more complex than an outsider would think
I used to think in my teens that it was as simple as slap a tint on and you’re good to go
There’s so much scientific theory to learn and we never stop learning. I think the difference to now and back in school is that this is something I actually have an interest in, so it’s easier/fun to learn!
Temporary colours don’t always mean they’ll wash fully out!
It just means your hairs natural state is temporarily altered.
This is the same with permanent. You’ve permanently changed the virgin hair state, but the tone isn’t permanent.
My client here wants to work towards silver, neutralising the mint green first to a baby pink means we have a compromise in tone for now. But eventually it’ll soften to a platinum again.
She loved it that much we decided to go for vivids underneath as they’re more hidden and low commitment ! How fun
This is all her own hair by the way!
