I’m sure most of you will have read a lot last week regarding the ban of TPO in gel nail products within the EU. I wanted to share this post created by Rebeca Dounetas in which she explains brilliantly TPO in more detail and the way it was tested to bring such negativity to the nail industry.

Right now, nail technicians and brands are being affected deeply, and I feel it’s important that we all speak openly and explain to our clients what is really happening. It is sad and disheartening to see the beauty industry repeatedly judged unfairly.🫩 Many still think of us as “just nail techs,” without realising the years of training and knowledge behind this work. Personally, I have studied allergies, nail health, and even the mathematical structures of nails to fully understand what I do. I attend courses every year — too many to count — because I care deeply about my clients and their safety. This is why I encourage clients to think carefully about who they trust with their nails. There is a big difference between someone who is constantly learning and growing, and someone who relies only on online tutorials without true understanding. Please, do not let the media create fear. Instead, focus on choosing a professional you can genuinely trust with your health and safety.❤️ #tpo #tpoawarness

I just wanted to thank you all for your lovely messages of congratulations, they are so appreciated and I am so very grateful 🥰 I raised £495 for MacMillan Cancer Support, which is absolutely amazing , so thank you to you all for your extremely kind donations 🙏🏻💚 A massive thank you also to for all your great training making me strong enough to even take on a challenge like Hyrox💪🏼. I cannot begin to tell you just how nervous I was about Sunday, I really doubted whether I would be able to complete it all so I just took my time and tried to enjoy doing it in the process!😆 Despite some very dark moments I actually really enjoyed it!🙈😁💪🏼I know I said never again but on reflection if I can get on top of this injury I’ve had for the last 18months and therefore run more (which is definitely key) and stop chatting at the red bull station every time I pass to have a shot! So after much deliberation over the last few months and driving everyone mad talking about it🙈 I have finally made my decision that I will be taking on the challenge of doing my first solo Hyrox in Manchester 3 weeks tomorrow! 😬

I did my first Hyrox as a pair in October 2023 which was tough enough and I really struggled with one of the workout stations so I am extremely nervous about doing it alone but it’s always good to set yourself a tougher challenge right! 💪🏼

I knew once I posted this there would be no going back for me since signing up back in September, so here goes!

I have chosen to take on this challenge as part of the Macmillan Cancer Support team and would be so grateful for anything at all you can donate🙏🏻

If you’re coming to the salon from WETHERBY / COLLINGHAM. The road is closed at the bottom of Lumby Lane in East Keswick so don’t come down Crabtree Lane from Harewood Road you won’t get through.

So best to go A58 to Bardsey OR Moor Lane from Harewood .
If you’re coming from Wike Lane ignore the road closed sign you can get to the salon!
