This was a rather lovely message to wake up to this morning.
I never take feedback like this for granted, and I don’t usually post stuff like this. But knowing this came from someone who has experienced massage treatments all around the world made it feel particularly special.
For me, a good massage isn’t about following the same routine every time.
It’s about listening, adapting and working with what that person needs on that particular day.
And perhaps the best bit of this message...

Just a little advance warning for anyone planning their next appointment…
Elysium will be closed from 30th September to Wednesday 14th October because I’m heading off to China.
I can’t quite believe I’m writing that!
Appointments are available before I go and the diary is open again for when I get back, so if you normally book around that time it’s worth having a quick look at the diary.
I’ll tell you a little more about the China part soon…

Buccal massage. Yes... it does involve me working inside your mouth!
Buccal is an intraoral massage technique that allows me to work with the muscles and tension of the lower face and jaw from a completely different angle.
I always wear nitrile gloves for the intraoral part of the treatment, and everything is discussed with you beforehand.
Buccal forms part of my Lymphatic Face Sculpting Massage, alongside work across the shoulders, neck, scalp and face.
But, like everything I do at Elysium, it’s not compulsory.
If Buccal isn’t for you, we’ll simply replace that part of the treatment with another technique. Your treatment should always feel right for you.
For me, Buccal isn’t simply about changing how a face looks. It’s about working with what’s happening underneath — releasing tension, supporting movement through the tissues and helping the face feel as good as it looks.

More warmth. More texture. Less “What’s behind that dodgy curtain?!)
