Too often, the signs are missed, ignored, or left too late.

But early detection saves lives.

One observation.
One conversation.
That can make all the difference.

A changing mole. A new mark. A spot that doesn't look right.

Sometimes it takes someone else to notice. A partner, friend, colleague, parent, sibling, or even a child.

This Men's Health Week, take a moment to check in with the men in your life.

Encourage them to protect their skin, check for changes, and seek advice if something doesn't look right.

‼ Be warned that partially cloudy and even overcast skies can actually increase UV radiation by 25% and DNA damage by 40%!

⛅️The effect of clouds on UV radiation is varied. Fully clouded skies lead to reductions in surface UV irradiance - however, albeit a complex subject, some clouds can actually create higher UV levels and increase the risk of DNA damage way more than perfectly clear skies!

⛅️Studies have shown that partially cloudy, or even overcast skies can increase UV radiation by 25% at the earths surface (enhancement effect) and DNA damage by up to 40% through a combination of refraction and reflection.

⛅️Whilst the vast majority of us are unlikely to know when clouds are increasing the level of UV radiation, what we do know is that people often change their behaviour on cloudy days and spend increased time outdoors without sun protection.

‼ This common misconception lulls many people into a false sense of security which can result in very bad sunburn and increased risk of skin cancer.

🧐 CHECK THE UV INDEX - WHEN LEVELS ARE 3 OR ABOVE, USE SUN PROTECTION MEASURES - EVEN ON CLOUDY DAYS!!💪
