1. Removed my watch for 5 days. I had no idea how much the constant alerts were affecting my stress levels until they were gone. Notifications are off from now on.

2. No makeup days. It made me realise how much energy I spend worrying about something most people aren’t even looking at.

3. Less time on my phone & more time just being present.

4. Stopped being so consumed by my appearance. Acne can make you constantly focused on how you look. But noticing how different everyone was on holiday, and realising nobody was judging anyone, reminded me that the harshest critic is usually ourselves.

5. Less caffeine. And I survived! Still a work in progress, the addiction is real 😂

Writing this with the holiday blues and a tab open searching for the next one 🙊👀

This isn’t just about extremes. Even small, consistent exposures can add up over time. And we can’t always avoid these things, some of them we enjoy! It’s not about cutting everything out. It’s about being aware and where you can, reducing the load.

I still do some of those things. But because it’s so minimal compared to before, it doesn’t affect my skin the way it used to.

This was one of many puzzle pieces 🧩 in my own skin journey. And one you wouldn’t automatically link to clearing your skin. It’s exactly why I created the Clear Skin Reset Programme.

I get it. I remember having breakouts and thinking if I just exfoliate more I can get rid of them. Almost wanting to scrub them away (St. Ives Apricot Scrub, we’ve all been there, or maybe that’s just showing my age 😂). But it just caused more irritation and made things worse.

When clients come to me this is often the first thing I do. Strip it right back to basics and let the skin barrier recover. And then gradually build on that routine once the skin is strong, healthy and resilient.

And that’s the thing. The tightness, the stinging, the burning, the breakouts. We don’t always associate those symptoms with overdoing it. We feel them and we do more. When actually, less is exactly what the skin needs.

If your skin is struggling, my first suggestion would be to simplify.

So many people have no idea what can be achieved without a prescription. What saddens me is that the clients I speak to are so often handed one without any exploration of their lifestyle, their stress, their sleep, their gut health or what’s actually going on internally.

And when a prescription is given, so many feel completely on their own with it. Some of the side effects can be significant, impacting your gut, your skin barrier and your overall health. And often people are completely unaware of what those long term side effects could mean for their body

That conversation needs to happen first. And until it does, I feel like so many people are being let down.

My relationship with food has been one of the biggest journeys of my life. And it’s taken me years to get to a place where I don’t let one bad day become a full spiral.

I share this because what we eat, how we feel about what we eat, and the guilt that comes with it, it all has an impact on our skin.

The stress of restriction, the cycle of bingeing, the cortisol from beating yourself up.

Getting kinder with yourself isn’t just good for your mental health. It has a real impact on the journey you have with your skin too.

And for me, it was one of many puzzle pieces to finally clearing mine.

Supplements are one of the most common topics that comes up with my clients. And one of the biggest things I see is money being wasted on things that were never right for them in the first place.

Before you spend another penny on supplements, ask yourself this. Are your foundations in place? How is your diet? How is your sleep? How is your nervous system? Because investing in supplements when those things aren’t in order is like trying to build a house on sand. Your body won’t be able to absorb or utilise them properly anyway.

Supplements should support a good foundation, not replace one 🤝🏻

And when you do add them in, they need to be right for you specifically. Not for the influencer who recommended them, not for your friend who swears by them. For you, your body and what it actually needs.

That’s always how I approach it with my clients ❤️

If you’re fasting or skipping meals thinking it’s helping your skin, I want you to read this 👇🏻

So many women are still operating on the belief that eating less is always better, that restricting is the answer.

But food is primarily there to fuel us, nourish us, support our bodies and our skin. When we rebuild that relationship and start seeing food that way, everything clicks into place.

Your skin, your hormones, your energy. All of it benefits when you truly nourish yourself. And for so many of my clients, that shift is when their skin finally starts to clear.

Falling in love with food again for what it’s actually there for is some of the most important work I do with my clients.
