One of my biggest passions is to help improve Bereavement Support for young people who have lost someone they love.

As a Mum, raising children and young adults after a significant bereavement, I can hand on heart say this was the most difficult and challenging part of parenting, to not be able to help them, or take that pain away.

Over the last few years I have trained with many child bereavement services including Winston’s Wish, CBUK & Grief UK, I have specialized in and trained others in Helping Children With Loss, and have coupled all this knowledge with my personal lived experience, added it to the learning I have done speaking to other parents, carers, teachers and counsellors and created my own Bereavement Cafe for Children and young people.

These 4 X 1 hour weekly sessions have proved extremely popular with the Youths, their Carers and their Teachers, with 100% feed back by all stating they have seen a significant improvement in the child by way of being more open in their conversation and improved attendance & attainment in the school setting.

The benefits of having The Bereavement Cafe in your Education setting ;
* Offering a safe space to children in your care to talk about their feelings

* Improves the young persons mental well-being by helping them understand what is happening to them physically and emotionally and why

* Opens communication between the Young Person and school

* Reduces workload if Pastoral Support
