✨ TPO – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ✨

You may have heard about the recent TPO ban in gel products, so I wanted to explain what it actually means and reassure my clients. 💚

What is TPO?
TPO stands for Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide. It has been used in some UV/LED-cured nail products to help the gel cure and harden under the lamp.

Why has it been banned?
From 1st September 2025, TPO became prohibited in cosmetic products in the EU after being classified as a Category 1B reproductive toxicant. Because of this classification, products containing TPO can no longer legally be used professionally on clients.
