One of my favourite things about doing eyeliner on mature clients is seeing how much it can bring the eyes back to life.

As we get older, our eyes can naturally appear smaller and the skin around them changes.
Add in hooded lids, a little less definition around the lash line… and perhaps eyesight that isn't quite what it used to be — suddenly applying eyeliner can become a bit of a daily battle!

Especially when you're trying to juggle glasses, a tiny mirror and a shaky eyeliner pencil. 😆

That's where permanent eyeliner can be such a game changer.

And no — mature eyeliner doesn't need to mean a big dramatic wing!
In fact, I rarely recommend one.
Instead, I look carefully at the individual eye and work with its natural shape.

Honestly? I hear this ALL the time.
And I completely understand. The thought of having a tattooed treatment so close to your eyes sounds pretty daunting! 😳

The skin around the eyes is delicate and, as we age, it can become thinner, drier and less resilient.

Got old permanent makeup you're no longer happy with?
You don't always need to start again from scratch.
Sometimes the answer is to lighten, soften or correct what's already there.
And that's one of the reasons I'm particularly excited about bringing laser to Derma Design.
Our new ND:YAG laser will allow us to introduce PMU removal and correction alongside tattoo removal and laser hair removal.
For some clients, the journey might look like:
Old PMU → laser lightening → reassessment → new PMU
Rather than simply putting more pigment over the top of something you're already unhappy with.
Of course, whether laser is appropriate depends on the existing pigment, colour, depth, skin and individual circumstances.
That's why assessment comes first.
