What a great day yesterday judging the Creative HEAD Magazine most wanted awards.

A room full of the top names in the industry, it was a total privilege to be asked to judge the awards again in what’s becoming one of my favourite days of the year.

It’s always so inspiring going through people’s entries, seeing the creativity in hair, business, leadership… everything this great industry has to offer! Watching and reading through the applications and seeing just what people have been achieving in what is tough times in businesses like ours. Well done everyone 👏🏼

To all those who have entered, don’t feel down if you haven’t been shortlisted, just getting yourself to the point alone where you feel you’re doing enough to enter shows you’re doing great things.

This weekend we are celebrating Allen Brown Jewellery 40 years in business at Heart of the Country Village, Lichfield

I distinctly remember going into Allen’s shop numerous times as a teenager and being wowed by it, it felt so unique, high end and yet welcoming. Then later in life when it came to opening my own business, his success at HOTC and the name he had made for himself from here was a big factor and inspiration in me opening here myself.

I don’t use the word inspiration lightly. In my 15 years here I’ve got close to Allen, and we’ve shared many a chat (normally when I’m cutting his hair)
It can be hard to find true inspirations, there can be a lot of hot air in business. But Allen is totally an inspiration to me and to many.

He’s still SO passionate about his craft and is an absolute expert in it, but also SO passionate about the people he serves, his customers, and his team. I’m sure he’s just as passionate as the first day he started and that energy he brings will be one of the big reasons he’s had the longevity and success he has.

40 years! Those of you that are in business will know how hard that is, it really doesn’t happen often. The ups, downs and pivots I’ve had to make in just 15 years I can only imagine the challenges Allen has gone through. Yet here he is still with the same drive and love for his job after 40 years!

Huge well done to Allen Brown Jewellery and the team. What an absolutely amazing achievement.🥂

We managed to get most of us who went down there on one photo and captured our Troy doing Troy things, on pic 8 here you can see Eboni being his carer 😂

We will share more from the night in the next week, to have 2 of the 3 places for our region in the grand final was such a proud moment for all of us, it’s never about the winning but about the growth in the process.

It was also so good to have just over half of the team there, as well as Troy and Eboni’s partners, to enjoy the night, be inspired and support Eboni and Troy.

Huge well done to all at L’Oréal Professionnel Paris L'Oréal Professionnel Paris for such an amazing night at an iconic location. Good times 🕺💃

It’s prep weekend for these two ❤️

Tomorrow sees them compete in the grand final of the L'Oréal Professionnel Paris colour trophy 2026.

We couldn’t be more proud of these pair and there’s a gang of us going down to the 02 London to celebrate with them and cheer them on.

Those who aren’t in the industry maybe won’t understand what a milestone moment this will be for them. The loreal colour trophy is huge, a real big deal in the industry and something stylists and salons spend their whole career working hard to get through to. Some never achieving it.

We’ve had real success over the past 3-4 years and maybe even we could become blasé about getting to the final.. but not us! We celebrate our people. You see it doesn’t just happen, it happens because of dedication to self development, stepping out of our comfort zones and striving for excellence, all of the team! And these two have this at their core and thoroughly deserve the plaudits.

This year is bigger than ever, the 70th anniversary of the competition. This means the final is bigger than ever and at such an iconic venue, but it also means that the competition has been harder, a big reason being the extra round of live regional finals being back. It really has elevated the competition and standard even further and for us to have 2 of the 3 spots for our region in the final, shows where we are at in our craft and again just fills us with immense pride

So wish them luck everybody. 🤞🏼

To everyone who’s got through to the final as well as Eboni and Troy. Take it in! Enjoy it! For me it’s not about winning but about what we become through the process. The growth through the process will have been huge for everyone and when that’s the focus we’re all winners ❤️
