This year has been all about growth, education and elevating what I bring to the chair. I’m incredibly proud to announce that, following extensive advanced training with the queen that is Nardia Young , I am now officially specialising in Premium Grey Blending.

To reflect this specialist skill set and the premium products I use, my standard service menu prices will increase by 20% from 1 January 2027.

I’m also streamlining my menu to focus on my core colour and styling services. From January, I’ll be retiring standalone wet cuts, gent’s cuts and children’s cuts.

My time will increasingly be dedicated to those incredible, all-day transformations — but my loyal regulars will always remain at the heart of my business.

💫Grey blending! What is it? Why all the hype?

It’s not just about growing out your greys, giving up and turning into Doc from back to the future. 🤪

It’s giving you back some freedom. If you’re finding that every 3/4 weeks your roots have a solid line of re growth that ties you to the salon chair then grey blending might be for you.

Permanent hair colour can look amazing when first done but after a few weeks it becomes faded and brassy. This is because the strength of the permanent colour oxidises the hair causing the undercoat to show warmth, even when we’ve gone darker 🤔 it doesn’t look natural and appears dull.

With grey blending we use a demi permanent colour, which is ammonia free, gives a glossy long lasting result and doesn’t alter the natural hair. This means the demi doesn’t fade warm because it hasn’t altered the hair structure like a permanent hair colour. (This will be a journey as the old permanent colour will still eventually shine through but with toners and top up visits this will eventually grow out)

Think of the coverage as a lip gloss, not a lipstick! So your white hairs will have a gentle tint, rather than complete coverage. This enables a softer grow out, with no harsh demarcation line and longer wait until your next salon visit.

To help with the initial transition I might need to do some micro fine highlights, following the pattern of your white strands to help to break up the old permanent root colour and to help to blend the new softer root coverage into the length. Your beautiful white sparkles can then become your very own beautiful highlights, either kept white or with a gentle demi tone. 💫

Depending on your goal there are many variations of grey blending/french blending.
