Even my jigsaw’s have gone cyclical ❄️🌱☀️🍁
I love a good jigsaw and when I saw this one by Micheal Storrings it was a must for my Christmas list.
I’ll be honest I find jigsaw’s therapeutic, they quite my mind as I focus.

We celebrated the Winter Solstice yesterday. The Solstice is a time to standstill and reflect. In the northern hemisphere we experienced the longest night of the year and now we look forward to welcoming in the light.
For many of us this time of year is busy. There’s a lot of social engagements, indulging in our favourite foods and drinks and changes to our daily routines this may have an effect upon our wellbeing.
Between now and Spring I’ll be providing insights, yoga practices and advice for your health drawing wisdom from the energies of Winter with the main theme giving yourself permission to slow down, rest and nourish your mind, body and soul.
Over the festivities do create time each day, even if just for a minute or two, to pause, check in on how you’re feeling and adjust your plans accordingly.
We all need to deepen the skills of working with feminine energies.
I’m slowing down this Winter and only focusing on two projects
13 Midlife Moons - A year long course for supporting women in menopause with insights, yoga practices and lifestyle advice.
Growing FLOW’s Inner Circle - My new free online community for women’s health.
Weekly insights, yoga practices and lifestyle advice from myself and other women’s healthcare professionals.
Keep an eye out for more info on both of these after Christmas 🎄

🌕 The Full Moon & Ovulation: A Cosmic Connection
Did you know the Full Moon shares a striking similarity with the energy women often feel during ovulation? Both are times of peak energy, illumination, and creativity—a phase to attract, connect, and express. ✨
Just as the sun’s light nourishes life, the moon provides energy and rhythm to all on Earth. Its glow marks the cyclical dance of nature, just like the cycles within a woman’s body. For those without a regular menstrual cycle—whether due to pregnancy, postnatal recovery, illness, or menopause—the moon offers a natural guide, as its cycle mirrors the menstrual one, lasting about 28-29 days.
At ovulation, much like under the Full Moon’s light, we may feel vibrant and magnetic, ready to shine our fullest self into the world. 🌟 Whether you’re cycling with the moon or your own body, take this time to tune into your intuition, power, and creativity.
💡 Rare Full Moon Fact: This time of year often brings the Beaver Moon, named by Native American tribes and early settlers because it signals the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze. It’s a reminder to prepare for winter while embracing the brightness of this special lunar phase.
How are you feeling under this Full Moon? 🌕 Share your energy, insights, or rituals below. Let’s connect with our cycles and the moon’s wisdom together. 🌙💛

What would I have wanted my 11 year old self to know about the menstrual cycle?
It’s a question that I’ve explored with my work around menarche .school and it’s also one we discuss in FLOW’s Yoga Teacher Training.
I do feel I was prepared and had a good experience but I’m still learning things in my forties that I really feel would have shaped my life differently if I was aware at an early age.
Women experience the menstrual cycle for approximately 40 years of their life and wouldn’t it be marvellous if we had a deep understanding of what is happening within us each cycle and how we can use it’s magic to tune into various energies, thoughts and creativity in the different phases.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if every girl learnt to have a positive body image regardless of their shape or size.
What if we understood the importance of our hormones and how they affect our health.
What if they were encouraged to find self acceptance, flexibility and strength.
What if we gave ourselves permission to rest?
What do you wish for every woman?
I’ll be focusing on puberty and menarche as we move into Spring.

Honoured to be highlighted for my contribution looking forward to writing more this year 🙌
Posted • The work we do at Female Health & Fertility magazine to support women all over the world wouldn’t be possible without the help and dedication of our valued contributors.
During our launch year, we were privileged to have many female health experts and advocates offering their time and services to the magazine as writers.
To thank these special collaborators for their support, we are unveiling our inaugural Female Health & Fertility Contributor Awards. I’ve finally found the article and I’ve started to digest its contents. Published by Elsevier Inc. on behalf of the American Society for reproductive medicine.
I love the moon and the feminine glow it radiates.
I saw these report pop up on social media last week and finally located its source today. It’s 8 pages to digest.
They studied 35,940 women over all age groups (those that experienced a menstrual cycle) from European and Northern American. The study lasted 3 years 2019-2021 and included 311,064 menstrual cycles.
The study found that the majority of menstrual cycles were 27-29 days in length (the moon cycles the earth in 27.33 and sun in 29.53).
Thursdays and Fridays are also the days of the week when the menstrual cycle start most frequently.
The study was conducted to explore circaseptan rhythm (days of the week) and circalunar rhythmicity (lunar cycle).
It also states more research should be conducted 🙌
When we know animals still live cyclical and many follow the energy of spring to reproduce we know that nature does support a rhythm of life. As man has created light, housing and ships food around the globe we don’t experience the elements as we once did and maybe that is why we don’t appreciate our natural ebbs and flows.
I’ll be in contact with students and graduates of FLOW teacher training to share this report as I’m always happy to update my training as research becomes available.
