5 things I underestimated as a home salon owner!
1. The time spent on admin outside of doing clients, it’s another full time job!
2. The amount of space and storage I’d need, it’s full in here.
3. Managing boundaries, this is so important to avoid burnout.
4. Stock costs when starting out, you think of the big stuff but the little bits all add up.
5. Marketing/ social media takes up so much of your time.
What I didn’t underestimate? How rewarding it would be to create a space that’s truly my own and serve my clients on my own terms. 💗 Doing this all while raising two little humans, showing them that they can do anything if they put their mind to it, building something from scratch that works around you and your family!

Even though it was super hot and we had a fan on, I think it added to the aesthetic even more 💁🏼♀️ really enjoyed ourselves doing this, lucky to have friends that can do this while the kids run feral in the garden and Naths on the bbq we had a lovely evening 💗

Yes that’s right I refused to bleach her hair!
Whilst I said no to bleach I did agree to help her, she was so scared to go darker as previously if anyone took her darker, she was left feeling mainly brunette and that’s just something she doesn’t want. She stressed that blonde is still the colour she wanted but was 100% open to blending the stripe she has after having bleach applied to her dark regrowth.
I wanted to get her to a more low maintenance colour that helps me extend the return visit to the salon, whilst we work on her hair health and give her a colour that still looks amazing!
We also added some side filling extensions which felt just like her own hair giving her the confidence in styling her hair as she wants to now she has more to play with.
Once we’d finished she told me I’d absolutely nailed it 🥹 and it was better than she’d imagined, and has already booked her next appt to see me.
