I don’t take many mesh integration clients on, but when I heard her story, I couldn’t say no.
Living with Trichotillomania is so much deeper than “just hair.” The shame, anxiety, hiding away, avoiding mirrors, avoiding photos… it chips away at confidence in ways most people never see.
Mesh integration is not a cure for Trichotillomania, and we had a very open conversation about that before going ahead. While it can help protect the natural hair underneath and create a barrier, there is still the possibility of pulling transferring elsewhere, or even pulling at the system itself.
She understood every risk.
But more than anything, she just wanted to feel like herself again.
Today wasn’t about perfection.
It was about confidence.
Softness.
Relief.
And giving a young girl a moment where she could look in the mirror and smile again 🫶
