The perfect autumnal shade ✨

This was over an existing faded red by Osmo in shade 5.66 and HLVR that I did previously. So 6.55 was the perfect shade to mute out but still keep some nice tones coming through❤️‍🔥

A day trip to London - first time ever ✈️🧚🏼‍♀️✨

I’m so proud of myself for getting out of my comfort zone. I only decided to do this about 10 days ago! 🤪🤘🏽

Flying into London City alone and attending Salon International was a HUGE achievement for someone who’s extremely anxious and doesn’t love crowds.

But I didn’t put pressure on myself. My only goal was to get there, enjoy it and stay as long as I felt happy. The event was one thing but doing it alone - travelling solo again and doing something just for me - was the real point. 💭🧘🏽‍♀️

Solo days really do wonders. It’s so good just enjoying your own company. 🥰

I wandered around, got my hair curled, grabbed lunch, went to see Sean Lamont - The Brow Boss , walked along the docks in the sunshine, had another wander around the stalls then had my dinner at the airport and now about to head home back to Scotland. ✈️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A pretty good wee day. 🥹✨

Because “I rent a chair, so I’m self-employed” isn’t actually it…

These aren’t just technicalities. The reality of the working relationship matters, not simply what someone calls it.

With 18 years in the hair industry, including 5 years self-employed, I’ve had plenty of first hand experience of what self employment looks like in practice.

I’m sharing what I’ve learnt because I think every stylist should understand what genuine self-employment actually means.

Self-employed should mean running your own business - not being an “employee” with the benefits removed.
