Acrylic is a mix of polymer and monomer. Combined, these ingredients create a gummy paste painted onto the nail with a brush. It primarily strengthens and shapes the natural nail, rather than adds color. Of course, that doesn’t mean acrylics are left bare—nail polish is usually painted on top to impart color. Acrylics actually allow a lot of freedom in terms of nail art. You can play with length, shape, and endless designs.
