Due to my own skin cancer history I like to make awareness, I have had 2 types of skin cancer and will regularly be checked in the future. Also I have completed a skin cancer awareness course for my clients to notice any changes to your skin. As we enjoy the sunshine, let’s remember to take steps to protect our skin and stay safe. Here’s what you need to know:

☀️ Types of Skin Cancer:

1. **Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC)**: The most common type, often appearing as a translucent bump on the skin.

2. **Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC)**: May appear as a red, scaly patch or a sore that heals and reopens.

3. **Melanoma**: The deadliest form, recognizable by changes in moles or new, unusual growths.

☀️ Prevention Tips:

- **Use Sunscreen**: Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30, even on cloudy days.

- **Seek Shade**: Avoid direct sunlight between 10 AM and 4 PM when UV rays are strongest.

- **Wear Protective Clothing**: Hats, sunglasses, and long sleeves can protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

- **Avoid Tanning Beds**: They increase the risk of skin cancer significantly.

- **Regular Skin Checks**: Examine your skin monthly for any new or changing moles or spots and see a dermatologist annually.
