I’ve learnt there’s no cure for acne there’s just maintenance. I’ve learnt from being 12 years old to nearly 33 that..
- it’s not because I don’t wash my face
- it’s got nothing to do with dairy
- I’ve definitely been prescribed products that I didn’t get taught how to use correctly
- I’ve definitely at times damaged my skin barrier & that’s actually made my skin worse!
That pic where my skin is at its worst, I was highly stressed. In a toxic situation and I actually had bloods done & my cortisol was so high. For me personally, the root cause of my acne can be a mix of a few triggers. Hormonal ✔️ stress ✔️ clogging products ✔️ my skin barrier ✔️
I’ve had it all… Roaccutane/Accutane 4x
I’ve had the antibiotics (they did nothing for me) I’ve had every single cream going, Duac, Differin, Zineryt, Adapalene, Benzyol peroxide. But I was never taught how to use these successfully.
I met at a skincare event & she taught me so much in that brief encounter that has stuck with me years later. I wasn’t moisturising because I was scared it would break me out, but I was breaking out because I was dehydrated and my skin barrier was stripped was too many harsh products! I started alternating my salicylic acid cleanser and even that change alone was a game changer.
My skins not perfect every day and I don’t think it ever will be because im just prone to being more oily. But I can definitely help manage it.
I change my skincare to suit my cycle because I’ve fine tuned my hormonal triggers & now see how I can help that pattern of dead skin cells and oil from building up to cause painful breakouts.
in my routine has helped me massively! My skin is calmer and it’s helped the little breakouts on my forehead & nose!!
hydra 10 moisturiser is sooo good for me lightweight but 48hrs of hydration, yes 👏🏻 this doesn’t break me out.
uk chemical peels ✨👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 just done a crash course on myself 4 peels over the space of a few weeks & at first I purged as it helped bring out congestion
Microneedling has been incredible in helping my skin heal and the texture has improved massively 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
