Savon de Sofia

I know we have been super quiet on here - soap making has taken a bit of a back seat due to lots of other commitments this year.

Tomorrow Sofia meets up with the rest of Unit 5, UK Contingent to fly to Seoul for the start of an incredible adventure. 5 days in Seoul - including a visit to the demilitarised zone on the North Korea border - followed by 12 days at the 25th World Scout Jamboree alongside 40000 Scouts from around the world, then a final night in Seoul before back in time for school!

The last 18 months have been an adventure in their own right - and we are all so grateful to everybody who has supported Sofia on her journey. In particular we’d like to thank Pentland Land Rover, W.L.Gore & associates, Kiltwalk, West Lothian Producers Market, Winchburgh Community Development Trust, Magenta Ink Calligraphy, Howden Howlers Explorer Scout Unit, 14th West Lothian Scout Group, West Lothian District Scouts, everyone that supported the fundraising Quiz Night and Ceilidh and absolutely everyone who supported Savon de Sofia in any way. You are all amazing - thank you so much.

We’ve been really quiet lately - super super busy!!

However we are delighted that we will be back at West Lothian Producers Market tomorrow! Can’t wait to see everyone!

Sofia also has just had her plans confirmed for next weekend! Training weekend #3 for Korea has Unit 5 heading to Liverpool. What a place to spend your 15th Birthday weekend. 🥰

After a final clue laden with Beatles song titles, the Unit have correctly guessed that this time next week we'll be on our way to Liverpool for a city-based training experience!

Exciting news this am - Sofia’s flights to Korea are confirmed. 19 nights in Korea beginning in late July and back just in time for the new school term starting.

Imagine being the person in charge of organising 9000 people’s travel from the UK to Korea and back! Huge thanks to UK Contingent for all they are doing to organise this incredible experience for all the Young People, their Leaders and the International Service Team. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚜️🇰🇷⚜️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

And that’s a wrap for 2022! All soap orders delivered (we think - let us know if not), all remaining stock packed away and we are putting our feet up for a couple of weeks (well we will once all the other jobs, school, work, etc are done!).

We want to thank you all very much for supporting us in our first year as Savon de Sofia. When we had our wee small business brainstorm back in January and made our first batch of lavender soap, we never could have imagined how far we would come in a year.

With your support, we’re delighted to say that Sofia has met her fundraising goal for her trip to the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea next year. Thank you all so much.

We’ll be back in 2023 as we’re having too much fun with Sofia’s wee side hustle. We may even need to expand our range - suggestions on a postcard please.

In the meantime, we hope that all our customers, friends, family and everyone else that has supported Sofia has a wonderful Christmas and we send all the best wishes for a happy, health and successful 2023.

It’s a soap bevelling and labelling night for us! All the preparation ahead of West Lothian Producers Market on Sunday.

Paperwork today. All cosmetic products on sale in the UK need to have a Cosmetic Product Safety Report, be registered on the UK Government’s Cosmetic Portal and lots more paperwork besides!

The good news though is that we now have 2 new soap varieties registered and nearly ready for sale. We will reveal all later!!

So at West Lothian Producers Market we’ve had every weather experience going! From baking sun, to high winds, to rain and cold temperatures!

This is long range, but could we get snow for the Christmas Market on 18th December?

Over the past year we have been blown away by how much support Sofia has had from friends, family and our customers in her fundraising venture. We are really grateful to you all.

We’ve loved being able to pay forward that support by supporting a few other causes close to our hearts over the course of this year. It’s today so we’ve made a donation to Cash for Kids’s Mission Christmas Appeal in the hope that it helps give some local children a Christmas to remember. 🥰
