Extensions should enhance the hair, not announce themselves.
The aim was to keep everything soft and believable, making sure the extensions blended through the tones already in her natural hair rather than looking like a separate block of colour.
Fuller. Longer. Seamless.
The feeling of a fresh set of extensions is honestly addictive đ
The posture changes.
The confidence changes.
The whole vibe changes.
And thatâs the part I still love most after all these years.
Yes, I love the fitting, the blend and the transformation but seeing someone walk out feeling like the best version of themselves will never get old.
I think a few people misunderstood what I meant đ
When I said I hate âextensionists who arenât hairdressers,â I was not talking about specialists who have spent years learning, practising, perfecting their fitting, blending, cutting, colour matching and building a real skill.
If youâve been doing extensions for 5, 10, 15 years, youâve put the work in. You are a specialist.
Iâm talking about the people who see extensions as quick money.
The ones who fit them without understanding the hair, donât blend or cut them properly, donât care about placement or tension, and send the client out because âtheyâre in.â
Thatâs the difference for me.
And just because someone is a qualified hairdresser doesnât automatically mean theyâll be a good extension specialist either. It takes a certain eye, patience, neatness and attention to detail.
Itâs not about the title. Itâs about the standard of the work.

Donât rush the part your client canât see. Thatâs where the quality of your work really shows.
A weave can look beautiful once itâs styled, but if the work underneath isnât neat, clean and well placed, it will show eventually.
Your sections, bead placement, tension and row positioning all matter.
Neat work helps the extensions sit flatter, feel more comfortable, grow out better and makes maintenance so much easier.
For me, a good fitting should look just as satisfying underneath as it does from the outside.
Save this as your reminder: neatness is part of the technique.

Fine hair doesnât mean you canât have extensions, it means the placement has to be right. đ¤
Emilyâs natural hair is very fine and soft, so this was all about strategic placement, not just adding loads of hair.
