2,200 grafts. 24 months. Precision meets artistry. šŸ

For this Silverstone F1 track mechanic, the smallest details matter. The same philosophy guides every hairline I create.

Watch the comb-through for a closer look at the finish—softness, direction and a hairline designed to sit naturally.

Our ā€œbeforeā€ photographs are limited to his initial consultation, taken well ahead of surgery, rather than immediately pre-op.

My verdict? Right on the mark... šŸ

ā€œHe looks like Matthew McConaughey now.ā€ šŸ˜‚

I’ll let you decide…

This is 2,300 grafts on ultra-fine hair — one of the more unforgiving hair types to work with.

But there’s another reason I love this case.

Before choosing a surgeon, this patient essentially wrote a thesis on his hair transplant. He built a Notion document, compared surgeons, studied results and kept coming back to us.

Price wasn’t the deciding factor.

His question was: who would I trust with a donor supply I only get once?

The challenge wasn’t to use as many grafts as possible. It was to make 2,300 grafts look like far more — improving density and facial framing while protecting his donor for the future.

Now he’s getting married next month. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øšŸ‡©šŸ‡Ŗ

And apparently looking slightly more McConaughey than when we started…

Be ruthless: if you saw him in real life, would you know he’d had a hair transplant?

šŸ‘‡ YES or NO?

Wet hair hides nothing. And that’s exactly why I’m showing you this.

No fibres. No clever styling. No dry-hair illusion.

A wet comb-through deliberately exposes every imperfection — the spacing, irregularity, direction, angulation and individual placement of the grafts.

Because a natural hair transplant shouldn’t look perfect.

It should look naturally imperfect.

This patient, a software engineer, received 2,100 grafts to reconstruct and reinforce the frontal hairline:

• 389 soft singles
• 982 doubles
• 729 grafts containing three hairs or more

Look closely at the frontal edge.

Those darker hairs haven’t simply been placed in a straight line. Each graft has been individually positioned and angled to follow the natural flow of his existing hair, with deliberate micro-irregularities throughout the hairline.

389 singles used to create softness.
Density progressively building behind them.
2,100 grafts used with purpose.

Interestingly, he also had active seborrhoeic dermatitis around the time of surgery. He has personally noticed that it appears to settle following PRP treatments. I’ve observed similar improvements in some patients following transplantation, although this is an observation rather than something I would present as an established treatment for seborrhoeic dermatitis.

For me, the real test of hair transplant surgery isn’t how it looks perfectly styled.

Wet it. Comb through it. Move it around. Get close.

That’s when the details become visible.

Undetectable by design.

Undetectable by design.

When this gentleman first came to see me, he brought something I had never seen before in consultation.

He had actually cut up a hair system and positioned pieces of it across his forehead to show me where he wanted his hairline to sit.

It told me two things: how much his hair loss was affecting him, and just how important getting this right was going to be.

He was apprehensive. Understandably so.

11 months ago, we extracted and transplanted 2,100 grafts:

• 389 singles
• 789 doubles
• 922 triples or more

The singles allowed us to create the softness and irregularity required at the leading edge, with the larger grafts sitting behind to build density and strength.

But for me, the best part of this result isn’t simply the density or the comb-through.

It’s what he said when he came back.

He’s a pragmatic guy. He doesn’t overstate things. When I asked him how he felt about the result, his answer was essentially:

ā€œI just don’t think about my hair anymore.ā€

And that’s probably one of the best compliments I can receive.

He’s since got married, and the photographs are absolutely beautiful. Different hairstyles. Different haircuts. His hair moves and flows naturally in the way he always wanted it to.

No hiding. No positioning pieces of a hair system. No constantly thinking about how his hair looks.

He simply gets on with his life.

The goal was never to create a hair transplant that people noticed.

It was to create hair that looked as though I was never there.

2,100 grafts. 11 months. Confidence restored.

Undetectable by design.

Less isn’t always less. Sometimes it’s exactly what’s needed.

This gentleman underwent a bespoke FUE hair transplant with 2,248 grafts to restore his hairline and frontal third, together with approximately 400 grafts to the crown.

The goal wasn’t to create an artificial wall of hair. It was to restore what nature intended.

The leading edge was built using meticulously placed single-hair grafts to create a soft, undetectable transition. Behind this, double and triple follicular units provide natural density while maintaining movement and texture.

Graft breakdown:
• Total grafts: 2,248
• Singles: 375
• Doubles: 968
• Triples+: 905

You’ll notice these are wet hair comb-through videos. We deliberately film results this way because wet hair separates and appears more transparent than dry hair. It doesn’t hide anything. If a result looks dense with wet hair, it will look even stronger once dry and styled.

The best part isn’t the graft count.

Shortly after surgery, this patient got married. He later sent us his wedding photographs and came back to clinic to tell me:

ā€œIt would have been pretty s**t if I hadn’t had this done. Looking back at my wedding photos for the rest of my life with my old hairline would have really bothered me.ā€

That is why I do what I do.

Hair restoration isn’t about vanity. It’s about confidence. It’s about feeling like the best version of yourself during life’s biggest moments.

One patient. One surgeon. One procedure a day.

Less isn’t always less. Sometimes it’s exactly enough.

This gentleman came to see me after being quoted 4,000 grafts to restore his frontal third in a single day.

After a detailed consultation and microscopic assessment, the picture became much clearer.

Whilst he had patterned androgenetic alopecia, he also had an element of diffuse thinning within his donor area. In simple terms, his donor supply wasn’t as strong as it first appeared. That immediately changed the surgical plan.

Donor hair is finite.

Once it’s used, it’s gone forever.

Could we have extracted more? Yes.

Should we have? Absolutely not.

Rather than chasing graft numbers, we focused on preserving his donor for the future whilst creating the biggest cosmetic improvement possible today.

2,312 meticulously planned grafts.

Every single follicular unit had a purpose.

This wasn’t about doing less.

It was about doing exactly enough.

This gentleman is an IT consultant who regularly works with senior leadership teams and presents to large audiences. During his consultation, he explained that his hair loss had become far more than a cosmetic issue.

He had gradually stopped volunteering for presentations, avoided being the centre of attention and felt his confidence had reached a point where colleagues with less experience and fewer qualifications were progressing ahead of him because he no longer wanted to be the one standing at the front of the room.

Hair loss doesn’t just change how you look.

It changes how you show up.

One of the things he later told me was that what made him choose our clinic wasn’t just the result.

It was the consultation.

No pressure.

No sales tactics.

No urgency to book.

Just an honest conversation about what was achievable, what wasn’t, and why preserving his donor would matter years from now.

That’s how medicine should be.

Under promise. Over deliver.

Graft breakdown
• Total grafts: 2,312
• Singles: 598
• Doubles: 1,111
• Triples: 603

A message from him:

ā€œI recently went to a wedding and some of my cousins couldn’t believe it was a hair transplant. They thought it had to be a wig because my hair had never looked that good before.ā€

Nine months after surgery, this patient happened to be passing through London before flying back to China, giving us the perfect opportunity for a quick follow-up.

I’m delighted to share the results of his frontal hairline reconstruction, where our primary focus was restoring the temple recessions and corner deficits. Approximately 1,750 grafts were used to rebuild these areas while maintaining complete harmony with his existing hair.

One of the greatest challenges in this case wasn’t simply creating density; it was creating the right amount of density. His native hair is naturally fine and diffusely thin, so overbuilding the corners would have looked unnatural. Instead, the aim was to achieve seamless integration, allowing the restoration to flow effortlessly into the surrounding hair.

The result is a refined, age-appropriate hairline with excellent graft survival, meticulously placed soft single-hair grafts along the leading edge, and carefully layered density behind to recreate the natural transition of a healthy hairline.

What makes this transformation particularly rewarding is the impact it has had beyond the surgery itself.

For years, he delayed treatment, weighing up every possible downside. There’s a quote I often come back to:

ā€œPeople spend so much time worrying about the side effects of doing something that they rarely stop to consider the side effects of doing nothing.ā€

That perfectly describes his journey.

Now, on the other side of the procedure, he tells me he feels significantly happier and more confident in both his personal and professional life. He has recently earned a promotion at work and, in his own words, his dating life has completely transformed.

Hair restoration should never promise to change your life. But when performed well, it can remove an insecurity that has quietly followed someone for years; allowing them to move forward with greater confidence.

Procedure: Frontal Hairline Reconstruction
Grafts: 1,750 FUE grafts
Follow-up: 9 months
Focus: Temple recession restoration with natural density and long-term harmony.

Most people never notice a weak beard… until they see what’s possible.

This patient had always been self-conscious about the lack of density through his cheeks and wanted subtle refinement of the moustache to create a stronger, more balanced beard.

Six months later, the transformation speaks for itself.

āœ”ļø 1,800 grafts
āœ”ļø Predominantly single-hair follicular units
āœ”ļø Strategic use of doubles to add depth along the jawline
āœ”ļø Natural exit angles to replicate native beard growth
āœ”ļø Careful texture matching for an undetectable result

One of the biggest advantages in this case was an excellent beard donor (ā€œdonor beardā€) region. The calibre and texture of the available donor hair closely matched the recipient area, allowing for seamless integration once grown.

The moustache was intentionally left slightly incomplete. During surgery the local anaesthetic was metabolised unusually quickly, meaning further injections would have exceeded the amount I was comfortable administering safely.

Patient safety will always take priority over chasing perfection.

If further refinement is ever desired, it can be performed as a separate procedure.

The result today is exactly what we were aiming for; a beard that simply looks like it has always been there.

No obvious transplant.
No harsh grafts.
No tell-tale signs.

Just natural facial hair.

Please note a good beard transplant indicates the nuances required in angulation of incisions but also the technical skill of those implanting the grafts.

POV: You’re looking at a hair transplant… but you can’t tell where the surgery starts and the natural hair ends.

A wet comb-through and some stills also black and white video to really add depth to the hairline

When hair is wet, there is nowhere to hide. Density, hairline design, graft placement, angulation and overall naturalness are all exposed. That’s why I believe a wet comb-through remains one of the most honest demonstrations of a hair transplant result.

This gentleman underwent a 2,000 graft FUE hair transplant, and the result you are seeing today is 2.5 years after surgery.

Case Study

Procedure: FUE Hair Transplant
Total Grafts: 2,000

Graft Breakdown
• 352 Single Hair Grafts
• 878 Double Hair Grafts
• 770 Triple Hair Grafts

The Objective

The goal was not simply to lower a hairline.

It was to create a stronger, more masculine frame to the face whilst ensuring the result remained completely natural from every angle, in every lighting condition, and with complete styling versatility.

The Philosophy

Hair transplantation is not about placing the maximum number of grafts possible.

It is about understanding facial proportions, hair characteristics, donor preservation, density planning and natural hairline architecture.

Every graft was strategically positioned to create a soft, undetectable transition zone at the front, with increasing density behind to mimic how nature intended hair to grow.

2.5 Years Later

The result remains dense, natural and fully integrated with his existing hair.

The donor area remains discreet, allowing him to wear his hair at multiple lengths with confidence.

This is why I limit my practice to one patient per day.

No production-line surgery.
No delegation of critical surgical steps.
No compromise on detail.

Just meticulous planning, precision ex*****on and long-term thinking.

Would you have known this was a hair transplant if I hadn’t told you?
