Last week I had the pleasure of joining a table of some of London’s top facialists and practitioners to celebrate the launch of minimaltheacademy by Hadda akrim 🤍

A table filled with stories, generous business advice, questionable skincare advice on TikTok, and women championing one another. An amazing reminder of how much there is to learn from the people around you, and how much richer our industry is when we share what we know.

Hadda what you’re building is so needed!! Not just in the work and training itself, but in the way you bring people together. A true example of women supporting women, and that another woman’s success is something to celebrate not compete with.

A very quick trip back to New Zealand 🖤 a few weeks ago I raced home to say goodbye to my stepfather, the Irish man who has been part of our lives for the last 20 years, and the great love of my mother’s life. There were lots of tears, but also lots of lovely moments, and then, because apparently there was room for a little travel chaos too, I left my entire bag of cosmetics on the plane. Add to that a bonus crash out at the airport when my suitcase decided to have an extended holiday in Sydney, and you’ve got a carousel post full of skincare recommendations I didn’t think I’d be making 💙

Naturally, I made an emergency pilgrimage to MECCA at Sydney airport. What a place!
Then a very satisfying Chemist Warehouse NZ Official haul, replenishing all my French and Korean favourites, very needed after 30 hours of flying.

This trip was a reminder to squeeze your people tight. Call them. Go home when you can. Make the trip. I am so happy to be back to my boys, and I’m slowly finding my way back into treatments over the next few weeks while I get my body clock sorted. Feeling grateful for family, old friends, good skincare and the people who show up when you need them 🤍

Holiday dump (last slide 🥹) 📸 ☀️🦪 🐟 🛍️ 🪽 👒 💦 school holidays is a tricky period as a business owner so we decided rather than juggling two work schedules, a nanny, school camps and running around London during a heatwave, we would take some time off during August to spend time with our little people near the ocean. Packed lots of big hats, too much SPF, ate plenty of seafood, and nailed my holiday skincare routine. These are some of my fave snaps of things we saw, ate, shopped and used whilst away in Hvar, and Mallorca this summer. Back in clinic this weekend, with a very full cup!

A week back in a London 🇬🇧 ☀️ scheduling a facial alongside full body lymphatic drainage has been the most amazing combination for so many of you this month: Book Sur Mesure + Body Modelage (+ Buccal for jaw tension) for nearly 3 hours of very productive, bliss 🍃

Banquet is the treatment I’ve been building towards without really realising. This treatment is shaped by the combinations my clients kept choosing, the requests that kept coming up, and exactly what I would book myself when I need a proper refresh (oh how I wish for this!).

Where I would start if I was struggling with inflamed skin, under the skin bumps, or hormonal acne. I have very breakout and pigmentation prone skin so postpartum threw me a very unwanted wildcard and it took me almost 5 years to get all my ducks in a row and figure out what really works for inflammation. Less about clean pillowcases and finding the right skincare product (though a great routine, hygiene and professional treatments do help) it was looking at everything underneath the hood first. This is what I’d go back to and take care to maintain (+ excuse the spelling mistakes this is a genuine late night brain dump!)
