You don’t need to worry about hair porosity when looking at shampoos

Not every ‘grey blend’ means full silver transformation, in this case the end goal is to completely grow out her colour.

So this was all about trying to blend the line of colour out to make it more bearable as she continues to grow ✨

After around a year of no colouring, Amy is ready to fully embrace her natural hair colour ✨

I’ve also included a few things I wish more people knew about postpartum TE:

✨ Shedding commonly starts around 2–4 months postpartum
✨ It can take several months for shedding to settle
✨ Seeing lots of short hairs coming through is a sign of regrowth
✨ it can take up to a year to see new growth
✨ It is common with post partum for other factors to be contributing here, like stress, diet, sleep, hormones

I’m sharing my own experience because I know how alarming it can feel when it’s happening to you, even when you know exactly what’s going on professionally.

I am by NO means saying that the redken shampoo isn’t good, because it’s a GREAT shampoo.

What I am saying is when you see growth transformations like this online, be really careful and try to think about the context.

Was the shampoo the only thing they changed? Were they experiencing breakage rather than hair loss? Did they start taking supplements? Change their diet? Stop using heat? Have a different haircare routine? Or did they simply allow more time for their hair to grow?

There are so many variables that can contribute to a “hair growth” transformation, and it’s very easy for social media to make one product look like the sole reason for the result.

Do we ever really get taught how to wash our hair properly?

It makes a huge difference. Less product, cleaner scalp, easier to manage hair!
