One of the most common questions we hear is, “How much time should I take off after a facelift?”
While every patient heals at their own pace, most people benefit from allowing around two weeks away from work, social events and other commitments. During this time, bruising and swelling typically improve significantly, helping you feel more comfortable returning to your normal routine.
Recovery doesn’t end after two weeks, however. Mild swelling can continue to settle over the following weeks, with your refined, natural-looking result becoming more apparent over the next few months.
To help support your recovery, we recommend:
• Getting plenty of rest during the first week.
• Keeping your head elevated, including while sleeping.
• Avoiding strenuous exercise until you’re advised it’s safe to resume.
• Following your personalised aftercare instructions carefully.
• Attending all scheduled follow-up appointments.
