Do breast implants need to be replaced every 10 years?
This is one of the most common questions we’re asked, and the answer may surprise you.
Breast implants are not lifetime devices, but they also don’t simply “expire” on a particular date. There is no rule that they automatically need to be replaced every 10 years.
If your implants are healthy, intact and you’re happy with your results, replacement may not be necessary simply because 10 years have passed.
What’s important is keeping up with your regular breast checks and recommended imaging, being aware of any changes, and speaking to your surgeon if you notice anything unusual.
Your implants should be monitored over time rather than replaced purely because the calendar says so.
10 years doesn’t mean “time for a replacement.” It means it’s time to check in.

What are “dog ears” after surgery?
Despite the name, “dog ears” have nothing to do with dogs! They’re small areas of excess skin or tissue that can sometimes appear at the ends of a surgical scar, particularly after procedures such as a tummy tuck.
They can develop when the skin gathers slightly at the end of the incision during closure. In many cases, they become less noticeable as swelling settles and the tissues soften during healing.
If they persist, a minor revision may sometimes be considered once healing is complete.

Why are more patients choosing an arm lift?
Arm lift surgery, or brachioplasty, is becoming an increasingly requested procedure for patients looking to address excess skin and soft tissue around the upper arms.
For some, changes occur after significant weight loss. For others, it can simply be a result of ageing, genetics or changes in skin elasticity.
What’s important is that an arm lift isn’t simply about making the arms smaller. The procedure is carefully planned to improve the overall contour of the upper arm while maintaining natural proportions.

Are bigger implants always better?
Not necessarily.
When it comes to breast augmentations, bigger doesn’t automatically mean better.
The right implant size depends on your existing breast tissue, chest width, proportions, skin quality and your individual goals.
Choosing an implant that is too large can increase the risk of complications and may not give you the natural, balanced result you’re looking for.
The goal isn’t to choose the biggest implant possible.
It’s to choose the right implant for your body.

What is muscle separation?
Muscle separation, often referred to as diastasis recti, occurs when the connective tissue between the abdominal muscles becomes stretched, causing the muscles to move further apart.
It can develop following pregnancy, significant weight changes or simply over time.
For some patients, muscle separation can contribute to a weakened abdominal wall, a persistent abdominal bulge or a feeling of reduced core support, even when overall body weight is healthy.
Muscle repair can be performed as part of an abdominoplasty to restore the abdominal wall and create a firmer, more supported contour.
Every abdomen is different. The right approach starts with an individual assessment.
