Now over the last 4 months I’ve made a concerted effort to focus on my skin health. Earlier in the year I started to look more tired, my skin was dull and despite sleeping well, I looked exhausted. Working in the aesthetics industry there’s a lot of pressure to look my best. So let’s break it down what I’ve had done:

1) JULAINE
This has made the biggest difference to my skin. I look more lifted, my skin looks tighter especially around my jawline and nose to mouth lines. I’ve had 2 sessions and I’m over the moon with the results. I look less tired and my skin feels plumper and healthier. The tired look I had has largely gone.

2) Topical Skin Care
I restarted my retinol - my favourite is from the ZO Skin Health UKI and I’ve been consistent with this. To balance the dryness I’ve been using the calming serums, peptides and a glycolic acid treatment to shed all the dead skin. My skin is brighter and smoother. Consistency really does work.

3) Lip blush neutralisation and eye brow micro blading with Permanent Beauty LONDON This has added some much needed colour to my face.

Her first lip filler in her late 40s 🤍 It’s never too late to do something you’ve been thinking about.

The aim was a subtle enhancement that suited her face and kept her lips looking natural. These photos were taken immediately after treatment, so some of the fullness is initial swelling, rather than the finished result.

As the swelling settles, the lips soften and the final result becomes clearer. Give them time to settle. Thank you as always to my patients for consenting to share their images.

To the untrained eye, the difference may look subtle. At her review, this patient wanted a little more volume at the sides of her upper lip, where her lips naturally curl inwards and can seem to disappear.

The challenge was to show more lip without overfilling it or flattening its natural curve. I placed a small amount of filler carefully and chose one that would hold its shape while still moving naturally.

She’s delighted that more of her upper lip is visible at the sides, while the shape still looks like hers.

Subtle work like this comes from years of experience and treating hundreds of different lips. Every lip needs its own approach, from where the filler is placed to which filler is used.

She had been thinking about lip filler for five years before finally taking the plunge.

I’d been treating her for nearly a year, and when she felt ready, she told me it was because she trusted me and knew I wouldn’t give her an unnatural result.

Every set of lips is different, so the aim is always to work with the natural proportions and keep everything balanced.

She already had quite a prominent white roll, which is the natural ridge above the lip, so I had to be careful not to create too much projection and make the lips look ducky. Most of the filler was placed in the lower part of the upper lip, while also gently increasing its height.

I added just a tiny amount to the lower lip for hydration and balance, as well as some support around the corners of the mouth to help the lips stay lifted.

The result is subtle, balanced and still completely her, just with a little more height, hydration and shape. 🤍

I always find these big events quite nerve wracking as I’m not the best with large crowds and my introverted side always wants to duck and hide. But I needn’t have worried as the Skinceuticals team were so welcoming. The selected speakers were approachable and friendly - such an amazing line up. And I was a bit star struck to see Emma Grede on a live video link talking to us all!

Ps- my skin is glowinggg like the moon right now. I’m in love with the resveratrol (which was a complete surprise but it’s like honey for the skin but won’t break you out).
