2 year anniversary!
Dr Selina Clinics has turned 2! Such a huge milestone and I feel so proud to have reached this point. I remember when I first signed the lease how anxious and worried i was, with so many sleepless nights. Questioning whether I’d done the right thing and if I’m able to fill the diary. What if no one comes? What if I go bankrupt? What if I’m making a huge mistake? I was plagued by self doubt. Fast forward 2 years and I can hand on heart say I made the best decision and thank God that I did. All of my friends, family, colleagues and beautiful patients have enabled this to happen and I wouldn’t be standing here today without you all. As a self funded clinic, I’ve relied on organic growth to push me forward and with the grace of God I’ve managed to make it here. For those of you who doubt yourself and let fear hold you back, just tell yourself that with enough determination, organisation and planning, you too can make whatever dream you have have happen x

Collagen is the protein that gives our skin its strength, structure, and elasticity.
When we’re young, our bodies produce collagen naturally, helping skin stay firm, smooth, and resilient. However, from our mid-20s onwards, collagen production gradually declines, with this process accelerating significantly during menopause.
The result? Skin can become thinner, less elastic, and more prone to fine lines, wrinkles, laxity, and volume loss.
Many of the treatments we offer at Dr Selina Clinics are designed to support and stimulate your body’s own collagen production, helping to improve skin quality from within rather than simply masking the signs of ageing.
Treatments such as microneedling, polynucleotides, Profhilo, Sculptra, JULÄINE, Radiesse, exosomes, and CO₂ laser resurfacing all work in different ways to encourage collagen remodelling and skin regeneration.
Healthy, youthful-looking skin isn’t just about what you see on the surface, it’s about maintaining the foundations beneath it.
✨ Collagen is one of the most important building blocks of healthy skin.

Hair loss is rarely caused by one single factor.
Whilst genetics and hormones often play a role, one of the most commonly overlooked causes of hair shedding in women is low iron stores.
Ferritin is a measure of your body’s iron reserves. Many laboratories will report ferritin as “normal” at levels that may still be suboptimal for healthy hair growth. For this reason, many hair specialists prefer to see ferritin levels closer to 75 µg/L when investigating hair thinning.
Scalp health is equally important. Conditions such as dandruff and inflammation can affect the environment in which hair grows. Ketoconazole shampoo (Nizoral) has been shown to help reduce scalp inflammation and may also have mild anti-androgen effects.
For those with androgenetic hair loss, supplements such as saw palmetto and pumpkin seed oil may offer additional support by helping to reduce the effects of DHT, a hormone associated with hair follicle miniaturisation.
I also often recommend the Dr Vegan Hair supplements, available through as part of a holistic approach to supporting hair health alongside addressing any underlying nutritional deficiencies and lifestyle factors.
When assessing hair loss, consider:
• Ferritin and iron stores
• Vitamin D and nutritional deficiencies
• Hormonal factors
• Scalp health
• Stress and illness
• Genetics
Healthy hair growth starts with understanding the cause. Treating the symptom without addressing the underlying issue rarely delivers the best long-term results.
If you’re concerned about hair thinning, a thorough assessment is often the best place to start. You can book a hair consultation with me via the link in my bio.
