This is a question that I get asked all the time?

Can my hair texture loc?

You’ll be surprised but almost any natural hair can be suitable for locs. The main things to consider are TEXTURE , LENGTH , DENSITY , and CONDITION.

🤎Texture: Coily and curly hair generally locs more quickly, but straight, wavy, and loosely curly hair can loc too—it may simply take longer and may need a different starting method.

✨Length: Around 5–6 cm (2–2½ inches) is often enough to start, although the ideal length depends on the method and your hair texture.

🤎Condition: Hair should be reasonably healthy. If it’s heavily damaged, very brittle, or breaking, it’s worth improving its condition before starting.

✨Thickness/density: Fine or thin hair can absolutely be loc’d, but your loctician may recommend smaller or fewer locs to avoid putting too much weight or tension on the roots.

🤎Chemical treatments: Relaxed, bleached, or heavily coloured hair can loc, but processed sections may behave differently and can be more prone to breakage.

One year ago, I took a leap of faith and opened the doors to Empress BEAUTIQUE’s very own salon. It was a dream built on hope, determination, and a lot of hard work. There were moments of excitement, moments of doubt but i never gave up.

Today, my heart is so full as I celebrate our first anniversary.
