This is one of the tools I reach for when I don’t feel quite right, unwell and of course at my age Perimenopause weird stuff 😵‍💫 🥵

Brain fog. A creeping headache. PMT. A low or unsettled mood. Or those days when everything feels harder than it should.

Gentle vagus nerve stimulation has become part of my personal wellbeing toolkit. I use my Y-probe around the ear to deliver a gentle electrical signal in the left side of the neck where we can tap into the Vagus nerve.

The vagus nerve is the main powerhouse of the parasympathetic nervous system. It carries about 75% of all parasympathetic nerve fibres in the body. It directly dictates the “rest and digest” responses by lowering your heart rate, stimulating digestion, and calming your organs.

For me, this ritual can help me feel clearer, calmer and more grounded. It isn’t about “switching off” cortisol—cortisol is necessary—but about supporting the body’s ability to recover after stress and return to a more balanced state.
