In Japanese arts such as martial arts, calligraphy, the tea ceremony and Reiki, the relationship between teacher and student is deeply valued.

A lineage records how knowledge has been passed from one teacher to the next. It tells the story of where the teachings came from and how they have been carefully preserved through each generation.

In Reiki, a lineage traditionally begins with Mikao Usui, the founder of the Usui System of Reiki, and continues through successive teachers to the present-day practitioner.

In my own Reiki lineage, I am only 15 teachers removed from Mikao Usui, who died 100 years ago.

The system of Reiki was founded by Mikao Usui (1865–1926), a Japanese spiritual seeker whose years of meditation, study, and self-development led to a profound awakening on Mount Kurama in 1922.

Following this experience, he developed and shared Reiki, a practice that supports balance, wellbeing, and connection with universal life energy - a tradition that continues to be practised around the world today.

I’m very excited to finally share that from September I’ll be teaching Reiki Level One courses in Central London, and bookings are now officially open.

Many of you already know that Reiki is something I naturally weave into my massage treatments, and I’ve had so many meaningful conversations with clients wanting to explore it more deeply for themselves.

Reiki Level One is a beautiful introduction to this powerful healing practice. It’s a one-day course and is designed to help you feel calmer, connected, balanced, and aware - while also giving you practical skills you can use for yourself, friends, and family.

The course includes:
• Reiki self-treatment
• How to give a full Reiki treatment
• Hand positions and intuitive working
• Grounding and energy awareness
• Reiki Level 1 attunement
• Printed and digital course manual
• WhatsApp support group
• Complementary Medical Association accredited certificate

The training will include hands-on practice, guided experience, and discussion in a warm and supportive environment at the wonderful new Helios Centre in WC1.

Teaching Reiki feels like a very natural next step for me, and I’d genuinely love to share this healing art with you.
