After 16 years of training both medical and non-medical practitioners in aesthetic medicine, the academy has now come to a close.

Dr Michael Aicken, founder and lead trainer, has shifted his focus entirely to private aesthetic practice at his new East London clinic - Astral Skin Clinic - where he now provides advanced non-surgical treatments. He also continues to work as a GMC-registered GP within the NHS.

This page reflects an earlier chapter in Dr Michael’s journey, and we’re incredibly proud of the many professionals he had the privilege to mentor over the years. Thank you to everyone who was part of that story.

While training is no longer offered, former trainees who need support are still welcome to reach out via the clinic.

PROFHILO BODY is designed for the back of arms and the abdomen for fine wrinkles. Before the Barbie movie was even on the horizon, Ruth (my business partner) described the effects on her abdomen as giving her a “Barbie tummy”.

FAT-DISSOLVING should be done carefully, but for the sake of this I’m going to say what I say on the face-to-face part of our Aqualyx course: Aqualyx is like dynamite compared to the other aesthetics treatments, because no-one wants subtlety - they want rid of their fat. So, why not Oppenheimer it all away? *But following clinical guidelines. **Just to be clear, I'm not saying that nuclear weapons should be used for anything; especially not for the treatment of stubborn fat.
