If you’re thinking about having hair extensions, here’s something worth knowing…
High-quality hair extensions should feel comfortable, look discreet, be easy to manage, and stay thick and healthy. With the correct aftercare and professional products, they can last around 18 months.
Lower-quality hair is often over-processed, dry, and single drawn (meaning it’s much thicker at the top than the ends). The wefts are usually heavier, take longer to dry, are more noticeable in the hair, and are much more prone to matting. Unfortunately, they often end up needing to be replaced after a relatively short time.
It’s also important to remember that all hair extensions require maintenance. Over time they can fade or become damaged by:
• Sun cream
• Fake tan
• Makeup
• UV and blue light
• Heat styling
• Swimming
• Not drying them thoroughly after washing
• Using the wrong haircare products
Looking after your extensions properly makes a huge difference to how they look, feel, and how long they last.

If you’re new here, I’m Emily 🤍
I’m self-employed and have many years of hairdressing experience. Thank you so much to everyone who has followed me and supported me throughout my hairdressing journey — what a journey it’s been! It’s been fun, rewarding, challenging, and at times overwhelming. There have definitely been moments where I’ve wanted to give it all up because finding the balance between work and family life can be hard… but without hairdressing I’d honestly go bonkers! I truly love what I do.
I absolutely love working at Salon E, and you may have noticed we’ve been making some improvements to the salon to create a more relaxing, cosy, and comforting space for everyone 🤍
Over the last few months I’ve noticed my client base growing so quickly, and I’m honestly so grateful for every single one of you. Most of my clients know I’m very laid-back and I’ve always tried my best to fit in last-minute appointments where I can. However, as things are getting busier, appointments may now need to be booked a little more in advance.
Of course, always try your luck with a last-minute booking — if I have the time, I’ll always do my best to fit you in 🤍
