Teaching at Kingston College for Media Make up students has been a learning curve and today was a boost when I introduced an alternative wig challenge with unconventional material. We were lucky enough to receive a box of bottle tops, foil, foam and filling amongst other materials
Some students created "out of the box" creations while others used materials they wouldn't normally use. This exercise pushed their creative abilities and expectations.
Colourful hairballs were inspired by Matthew Williamson 1997 LFW show "Electric Angels."

Last week I was teaching, had meetings, plus working on a unique industry event and carried out some World Book Day commitments.
All day Friday was a immersive and creative UAL, London College of Fashion, Stratford. Here are images of my kit set up in the Prosthetics room as I took 2nd Year BA Hons students through an extensive performance brief; this consisted of lots of visual and written references and information, significant instructions, an exploration of their personal influences and of course, plenty of room for students to explore and execute make up creatively and explore make up products from my kit.
In my demonstration I challenged myself by using new products I'd recently purchased from Guru Makeup Boots UK as well as some of my most trusted skincare from and make up. Brands used were Cosmetics à la Carte Made By Mitchell RMK Global essence cosmetics

Students really worked hard to explore and experiment, so proud of their efforts.

It has been rewarding lecturing the industry’s up and coming talent, as well as college students considering Higher Education.

Truly kitted out today for filming in London. Extensive hair and make up kit as I've six people to get camera ready - all different skin types and hair textures.
I really appreciate the pigmented concealers by and Cosmetics à la Carte - these have worked to not only conceal but neutralise areas of the face and with fast results.

Clear bags mean everything to a Hair and Make up Artists' and these Getsetgobags are trusted pieces of kit when working efficiently. I have a range of their bags I use on set for editorial shoots but for today's filming at 2 locations in London the Get Set Go Spotty set bag was a good accompaniment to have everything ready for touch ups on set.
Quality bags last decades and these are probably over a decade old but still my go to!

Great location yesterday. I loved the walk along the river from London Bridge where I took in the clear sky and incredible light.
I set up in an office space where we found lots of areas for our portrait shoot.

Incredible covershoot this week and sadly have to wait till January to share more but I can share that this was my set up using Cosmetics à la Carte products.
The deep shades of the foundations from the brand are heavily pigmented in very true shades, to compliment these are their matte/glow bronzing powders and finishing powders, Silk Touch which are so finely filled they befer leave a cast, nor do they cake. It took me several hours to get my kit together for this shoot - a process most clients are unaware of though the prep is an integral part of the process.
More shoots coming up until the Christmas break so I shall share more soon.
