Movement around the eyes; squinting , laughing and frowning eventually result in the appearance of fine lines around the eyes (also known as crows feet) . As we age the skin losses elasticity which contributes into this

They can appear at any age as everyone’s skin is different. In most people it starts to become more apparent in their mid-30s

The main muscle responsible for these movement is the orbicularis oculi. We can inject Botulinum toxin into certain points of the muscle to reduce its movement and over time this results in a significant reduction in fine lines around the eyes.

Let’s talk about forehead and frown lines

We use our forehead muscles a lot of the time and it is the constant involuntary use of these muscles , along with the natural process of ageing of the skin that results in the development of wrinkles.

When do people present to us normally?
There is no age limit for this. People tend to approach us when the appearance of the lines become prominent and bothersome.
Common complaints include lines becoming more prominent at rest , visible in photographs and difficulty when applying make up.

What can we do about it ?
Good skin care is so important to help maintain healthy appearance of the skin.
We can also inject Botulinum Toxin in certain determined anatomical points in the muscle to reduce its movement.

At the point of the injections there will be small red blebs immediately after but they resolve within 2 hours (so no real downtime).

How long until you see the benefit?
It takes 5-14 days for effective paralysis of the muscles. It will take 3-4 months for this to wear off (gradually).

Small amounts of soft dermal fillers can be used to enhance the volume of the lips. It can also be used to help correct asymmetry.
