5. Have a hot bath/use a heat pack
Heat will increase the blood flow to the stiff areas. It will relax and loosen tight muscles and allow more movement. There is a huge array of heat patches or creams that heat the area you apply them on. Use a heating pad when you are at work, or on the go, or enjoy a hot bath when at home.

4. Drink water!
Working all day long makes our bodies to dehydrate. This affects muscles as water is used to lubricate movement. No water = stiff muscles, so drink up!
Anyone else feeling thirsty?!

3. Stretch!
Feel what's going on in your body - if it feels good, continue, if it hurts, then stop. Combine your stretches with breathing exercises. There is no correct stretching manual, there is no set time. Be aware of your body's reactions and enjoy the benefits of stretching!

2. Have regular breaks!
Combine your work time with a ''move break''. It is recommended to have a 3-5 minutes break every hour. Have a short walk, or de-tense your upper body using step number 1. Eventually it will become the best habit and you will find yourself stretching neck and shoulders while looking at your computer or reading documents.

Stiff Neck? Aching Shoulders?

Try our easy 6 steps to help you feel better and release tension

1. Start moving!
Stiff neck and aching shoulders are usually caused by a very simple reason – lack of movement. So move! Slowly lift and lower your shoulders, rotate the shoulders front to back and back to front, turn your head left and right and then slowly bring your chin to your chest and rotate. Do it all very sloooowly. Be gentle and stop if it is really painful.
