Labiaplasty is a deeply personal decision, and for many women, it is not simply about appearance.

I often meet patients who experience discomfort during exercise, intimacy, certain clothing or everyday activities. Others simply feel self conscious and want to understand whether surgery could help them feel more comfortable in their own body.

During consultation, my role is to listen carefully, understand what is bothering you and explain what can realistically be achieved.

Every woman’s reasons are different, and the right outcome should always be tailored to the individual.

If you are considering labiaplasty and would like to talk through your concerns in a private and supportive setting, you can book a consultation with me.

The most common reason people consider upper eyelid surgery is simple: they want to look as fresh as they feel.

But heavy eyelids are not only about appearance. The weight of the skin can narrow peripheral vision, make night driving harder and keep the forehead working all day to hold the lids up. That constant effort can show up as frown lines, neck tension and headaches.

Blepharoplasty is one of the most requested facial procedures in both men and women, and it can help at any age when excess skin or under-eye bags are the concern. What it cannot do is stop time, and I think it is important to say so. Results can last five to seven years, and the aim should always be a result that suits the patient's own features.

FRCS Plast is more than a set of letters after my name.

It represents years of surgical training, specialist examinations and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards in plastic surgery.

As an FRCS Plast certified plastic surgeon, my role is not simply to perform a procedure. It is to assess carefully, explain honestly and recommend what is genuinely appropriate for each patient.

Surgery should never feel rushed or unclear. You should understand your options, your expected outcome and the reasoning behind every recommendation.

For me, trust begins with knowledge, transparency and a conversation where you feel completely comfortable asking questions.

If you are considering plastic surgery and would like to understand what may be suitable for you, you can book a consultation with me to discuss your concerns and goals.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This month I will be sharing what I have learnt about breast reconstruction over more than three decades, in the hope that it helps someone facing this decision feel a little less alone.

I spent 25 years in the NHS, ten of them as a consultant in microvascular breast reconstruction, rebuilding breasts for women after mastectomy. If those years taught me one thing, it is that no two reconstructions are the same, because no two women are.

Some women choose reconstruction at the same time as their mastectomy. For others, it is wiser to wait, because chemotherapy, radiotherapy or other treatment needs to come first. Neither is automatically right. The decision is made together, with the woman and her oncologist, before surgery ever takes place.

The same is true of technique. An implant, her own tissue, fat transfer, or a combination: each has its place, and the most suitable option depends on her anatomy, her treatment and what she wants for herself.

Reconstruction is not about replacing what was lost. It is about restoring a woman to herself, in a way that respects her body, her treatment and her choices.

If you or someone you love is at this point, you can read more on my blog via the link in bio. And if you have a question, you are welcome to ask it below.

Fat is one of the most versatile tools we have in plastic surgery.

I often describe it as liquid gold because it allows us to use your own tissue to restore volume, refine contours and improve areas where the skin or soft tissue has been affected.

Fat transfer can be used in many ways, including:

• restoring facial volume and softening hollow areas
• enhancing facial contours in a subtle, natural way
• restoring or adding breast volume
• improving contour irregularities
• supporting the appearance of certain scars
• improving soft tissue quality in carefully selected areas
• restoring volume after weight loss, ageing or previous surgery

One of the reasons I value fat transfer so highly is that it can be incredibly versatile. We are not simply adding volume. We can use it to reshape, rebalance and restore in a way that feels very natural to the patient.

Of course, not every patient or every area is suitable for fat transfer, which is why assessment is so important.

If you are curious about what fat transfer could do for you, book a consultation with me and we can discuss the possibilities in detail.

Breast reconstruction is one of the most personal decisions a woman can make, and it deserves to be made with clarity, not pressure.

Over three decades of reconstructive work, I have learnt that the first question is rarely "which technique?". It is "what is right for her?". Timing, approach and the number of stages all depend on her treatment, her anatomy and her own wishes. Some women choose reconstruction at the same time as their breast surgery, others once other treatment has been completed. Some are best suited to an implant, others to their own tissue, fat transfer or a combination. Women who have had only part of the breast removed may also have reconstructive options.

None of these paths is automatically better than another. There is no single "best" reconstruction, only the one that is appropriate for you.

Reconstruction is not about replacing what was there. It is about restoring shape, symmetry and proportion in a way that respects the woman, not just the body.

If you or someone close to you is at this stage, I hope this carousel helps you walk into your next conversation with more understanding and more confidence. Ask questions, understand your options, and make the decision together with your specialist team. You can find more on my blog via the link in bio.

Sometimes, when I speak to women in consultation, they tell me they no longer recognise their body.

They may have lost weight, exercised consistently or gone through pregnancy, yet still feel uncomfortable with excess skin, stubborn fat or a lack of firmness around the abdomen.

For many of my patients, this is not simply about appearance. It can affect the way they carry themselves and how confident they feel in their own body.

Abdominoplasty, often known as a tummy tuck, can help address some of these concerns by removing excess skin and fat and, where appropriate, repairing weakened or separated abdominal muscles.

My aim is never to make you look like someone else. It is to understand what bothers you, what you would like to improve and what can realistically be achieved for your body.

If you have been thinking about a tummy tuck and are unsure whether it is right for you, I would be very happy to discuss your concerns with you in consultation and talk through the options available. 🤍
