Today is a hard day.

My anxiety is so bad I physically feel sick. My body feels alien to me and I just don’t feel like myself.

Being a single mum, working, trying to keep everything together, then adding my spinal issues, the pain, scans, X-rays, MRIs and uncertainty, has affected me more than I probably admit. Tomorrow I finally find out what my surgery will involve, and I think everything I’ve been holding in has just hit me.

I don’t see my friends like I used to. Sometimes even socialising feels like something I have to find energy for when I’m already running on empty. Then comes the guilt for not being the friend I used to be.

This isn’t a sympathy card, it’s me being real. Because anxiety, social anxiety and depression can be incredibly lonely. You can look like you’re coping, go to work, be a mum, laugh, smile and get on with life, while inside you’re fighting a battle nobody can see.

I’m sharing this because I know I’m not the only one.

If you’re struggling too, please remember, a bad day doesn’t mean you have a bad life. You don’t have to have everything figured out, you don’t have to be strong every single day, and you certainly don’t need to apologise for struggling.

Sometimes just getting through the day is an achievement.

Be kinder to yourself, and be kinder to other people. You really never know what someone is carrying behind the version of themselves they show the world.

I’m genuinely curious because this seems to divide people…

Women spend thousands every year on Botox, filler, skincare, facials, laser, brows, lashes, hair, nails and anti-ageing treatments. It’s become completely normal.

But the second a man has Botox, gets his brows tidied, has laser hair removal or invests in his appearance… people start calling him vain.

So where do you stand?
Should men be having aesthetic treatments?

YES – There’s nothing wrong with looking after yourself. Confidence has no gender.

NO – Men should age naturally and stop trying to keep up with cosmetic trends.
