The Remedial Rooms
Sports and Remedial Therapist, Specialising in injury rehabilitation and Pregnancy care. Often people are scared off when they hear the term sports massage.
Whether they think they do not fit under the bracket of 'sports' or because sports massage often has quite a bad reputation of it being brutal and painful. But real sports massage should be about relieving aches and pains or helping to rehabilitate injuries not only from sports but also from day to day life like work or hobbies. Soft tissue therapy looks at the body with a holistic approach and uses many different techniques to relive and cure a whole range of issues and injuries.
✨ A little look inside one of my 1:1 Clinical Mat Pilates sessions.
Every session is tailored to the individual, with exercises chosen specifically for their goals, movement patterns and current ability.
One of the most important parts of my sessions is education. I want my clients to understand why they’re doing each exercise, why certain movements may be contributing to their symptoms, and how small changes can make a big difference. My aim is to help you leave not only feeling stronger, but with the confidence and knowledge to keep progressing outside the clinic.
Whether your goal is rehabilitation, building strength, improving movement quality or returning to the activities you love, every programme is designed around you.
📩 If this sounds like something you’d benefit from, drop me a message to find out more or book your 1:1 Clinical Mat Pilates session.

You’re not alone.
So many people avoid exercise because they’re worried it’ll make their pain worse. The truth is, the right movement can often be one of the most important parts of recovery.
That’s exactly why Serena has spent the last few months working on something new…
Launching soon at The Remedial Rooms. 👀
Keep your eyes peeled… something exciting is on its way. 💛

🧠 Myth Busting: Can a spinal problem cause every symptom on this chart?
The short answer: not quite.
Charts like this have been around for years and can be useful for understanding how the nervous system connects different parts of the body. However, they can sometimes give the impression that a single spinal issue is the direct cause of conditions such as asthma, digestive problems, high blood pressure or liver disease.
In reality, the body is much more complex.
This is exactly why Serena asks so many questions during your consultation (she’s not being nosy, we promise! 😅).
As osteopaths, we’re constantly trying to determine:
✔️ Is this symptom mechanical?
✔️ Could it be nerve-related?
✔️ Is there a systemic or medical cause?
✔️ Does this need further investigation or referral?
A painful shoulder isn’t always just a shoulder problem. Back pain isn’t always coming from the back. Equally, not every health condition can be explained by the spine.
The most important part of any appointment isn’t the treatment – it’s understanding the full picture first.
Good healthcare starts with asking the right questions. 💙

A Small Change to Online Booking ⬇️
Over the past few weeks, we have unfortunately seen an increase in last-minute cancellations and missed appointments. As a result, we have made a small change to our online booking system to help protect our practitioners’ time and ensure appointments remain available for those who need them.
All online bookings will now require a card to be added to your account when booking.
You will not be charged when making your booking. You can still pay by cash or card in clinic after your appointment, exactly as before.
The card details are simply there to secure your appointment. In accordance with our cancellation policy, appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, may be charged the full appointment fee.
As a small independent clinic, every appointment matters. When appointments are missed or cancelled at short notice, it impacts our practitioners’ income and prevents other patients from accessing treatment.
We truly value and appreciate all of our patients who respect our cancellation policy and continue to support our team. Of course, we understand that genuine emergencies happen, and discretion will always be used where appropriate.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Something new may be coming to The Remedial Rooms… 👀✨
Serena, our osteopath, is currently completing her matwork Pilates course and we’re exploring the idea of introducing:
• 1:1 Pilates sessions
• Mobility & movement classes
• Osteopathy-led exercise sessions
These sessions would be designed to help build confidence in movement, improve mobility, support recovery and help you enjoy moving your body again 💚
They could also potentially be added onto your osteopathy treatment sessions to further support your recovery, rehabilitation and long-term movement goals.
At the moment this is just an idea, so we’d love to know if this is something you’d be interested in seeing at The Remedial Rooms.
