Hair loss deserves more than a quick fix - it deserves a proper conversation 🙏
With August marking Hair Loss Awareness Month and September bringing Alopecia Awareness Month, today we’re shining a little more light on a topic that affects so many people, across all genders and ages.
➡️ We asked senior stylist Zacharie to talk us through some of the conversations he’s been having with his clients for years around thinning hair, shedding and regrowth.
One of the most common causes of patterned hair loss is hormonal.
As we age, testosterone can be converted into DHT (dihydrotestosterone) by an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase.
In people who are genetically sensitive to DHT, this can gradually shrink the hair follicle, shorten the growth phase and cause the hair to become progressively finer.
The good news is that we now understand much more about this process than we did years ago 🙏
There are products designed to support scalp health, reduce the impact of DHT and encourage healthier-looking hair growth - and Zacharie has been recommending a number of these to clients for many years.

Today we’re remembering the incomparable Dolly Parton 🩶🕊️
A true icon whose influence reached far beyond music - Dolly was known and loved for her extraordinary talent, unmistakable style, warmth, wit and ability to make people smile.
From the hair and the glamour to the humour, authenticity and enormous heart behind it all, she was completely and unapologetically herself.
As a salon, we’ve always had a particular appreciation for someone who understood the transformative power of fabulous hair (and the importance of a good hairdresser backing your corner!) ✨
Today, following the incredibly sad news of her passing at the age of 80, we’re celebrating a woman who brought so much colour, joy and personality to the world.
An icon in every sense of the word.
