It's a multi billion dollar industry.
Everyone's trying to make their buck.

Absolutely.

But at whose cost?

Check out our latest episode where Gabrielle Richens speaks to Dr Zunaid Alli from Edition Clinic.

Most microneedling cartridges go blunt after 60 seconds. And a blunt needle doesn't puncture the skin; it drags across it.

We stopped at the Dermapen World stand at AM London 2026 and this was one of the most eye-opening conversations we had on the floor.

Dermapen operates at 1,920 punctures per second. The average competitor? Around 7,000 per minute. More punctures means better collagen induction and surprisingly, less pain.

Not all microneedling is equal. And now you know why.

London's had a glorious week and if you've been outside enjoying it (as you absolutely should), this article is for you.

Sun exposure is the single biggest cause of premature ageing: fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, and loss of skin firmness are all largely caused by UV damage. And the tricky part is that most of it is invisible at the time. You only see the bill later.

The good news is that several treatments can meaningfully reverse sun damage, not just mask it. Our article covers four of the most effective:

→ Fraxel® — fractional laser treatment targeting pigmentation, lines, and sun damage. Recommended as a course of 5.

→ Microdermabrasion — gentle crystal exfoliation that works on all skin types and addresses sun damage, dehydration, and fine lines.

→ Dermalux™ LED Phototherapy — uses light to stimulate the skin's own repair process, reversing redness and uneven tone.

→ Ultherapy — ultrasound energy that triggers collagen production and firms the skin non-surgically.

Not ready for a clinic visit? The article also covers three things you can start today; none of which cost anything.

Finland invented the sauna. Turns out that was just the warm-up. 🧊🔴

CTN.FI is a Finnish wellness tech company building the full recovery stack:cryotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, red-light therapy, electromagnetic muscle stimulation, and more.

They're in 40+ countries. They work with elite sports organisations, physiotherapy clinics,
wellness centres, and everyday people who've decided that recovery deserves the same seriousness as training.

The question they're asking is the right one: why do we treat recovery as an afterthought?

Most practitioners won't admit this about their own training.

Dr Zunaid Alli, founder of Edition Clinic, UCL-trained aesthetic physician and international KOL, has spent over a decade not just practising, but shaping the next generation of injectors. And his message is refreshingly honest.

The full episode, hosted by Gabrielle Richens, is one you won't want to skip. We go deep on regenerative aesthetics, patient psychology, industry regulation, polynucleotides, and what it actually takes to build a clinic that lasts.

Scar camouflage tattooing sits at the crossroads of dermatology, aesthetics, and art, and it's one of the most under-discussed treatments in the aesthetic industry.

Unlike cosmetic tattooing, paramedical micropigmentation requires practitioners to understand skin tone variation, scar tissue behaviour, and pigment chemistry at a clinical level. It's used for surgical scar blending, ar**la restoration post-mastectomy, vitiligo camouflage, and scalp micropigmentation, yet patient awareness remains low.

With an estimated 100 million new scars formed globally each year, the patient population is vast. The gap between demand and awareness is the real story.

We've published a full explainer on the technique, candidacy, and limitations:

West London just got a whole lot more interesting

We reviewed Mélo Clinic in Acton and honestly, it ticks every box.

Led by Dr Matin Ahmadi (MBCAM, MBLA), the clinic offers everything from Endolift and CO₂ laser to Morpheus8, Profhilo, and CoolSculpting: all in a beautifully calm, precision-led environment.

What we loved most? The ethos. No frozen faces, no harsh filters. Just real, natural-looking results tailored to you.

They're also CQC-registered and partnered with SylfirmX, Obagi Medical, and SkinCeuticals. The credentials are proper.

Two days at Olympia London with and what a two days it was. From the moment we walked through those doors, it was clear this year's event was something special.

We covered the floor, visited the stands, and sat down with some of the most interesting voices in the aesthetics industry right now. The innovation, the conversations, the energy — all of it reminded us why this event matters.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to talk to us, welcomed our cameras, and made AM London 2026 one to remember.

We caught up with .heiligmann.official at London 2026 and she made a point that's hard to argue with.

Lip care is one of the most neglected areas in skincare. We invest in serums, SPF, retinoids yet the lips, one of the most visible and expressive features on the face, are often an afterthought.

Monika, founder of Monika Heiligmann Lip Care Atelier, has built an entire brand around changing that. Her Parisian lab-developed formulas combine biotechnology with clean ingredients to plump, protect and regenerate — going far beyond anything a standard lip balm can offer.
