Welcome to Highgate Lit Sci Maureen Hung, the brains and talent behind the eco jewellery brand W;nk. Jewellery and wearable objects are created from discarded materials, in her words ‘turning recycled plastics into wearable pseudo poetry, the material is not pretending – it is becoming’. Abstract twigs, buds, blossom and leaf structure often play a part in Laura Baxter’s contemporary jewellery design. Using gems, gold and silver the Laura Baxter collection is delicate and timeless – great to have you back Highgate Lit Sci on 20 – 22 November Laura.

The big accessory trend recently has been the re-emergence of the iconic silk scarf. Head tye, neck tye, pocket squares, draped – they are front and center of all accessory runways. And no one does this better than Melanie Laslett. All designs Laslett England are hand drawn, artisan printed and finished in silk, for men and women. Caroline Nuttall-Smith creates her distinctive work from stoneware clay, initially  hand building before exploring surface design techniques that include mono print, colour clay slips and relief carving. Caroline Nuttall-Smith will be joining us on 20 – 22 November or the first of the winter fairs Highgate Lit Sci .

Two things to look forward to this winter Highgate Lit Sci - Handmade in Highgate 20 – 22 November and Handmade in Highgate 27 – 29 November. Each fair will feature different designer/makers and artists.
 
Specialising in highly detailed traditional linocuts Rachel Snowdon counts folklore, botanics and antiques as inspiration. One of the standout favourites at Highgate Literary &
Scientific Institution , Rachel will bring a collection of prints, books and stationery to HiH on 20 – 22 November.
