Before and after following removal of a large lesion from the upper ear.

Given its size and location, removal left a significant wound, so the aim was not only to remove the lesion completely, but to carefully reconstruct the area while preserving the natural shape and contour of the ear.

The lesion was sent for pathology and confirmed to be a harmless growth arising from the sweat glands of the skin.

Reconstruction was carried out using a helical rim advancement flap, allowing the wound to be closed with minimal visible signs of surgery. The longer scar is carefully hidden within the rim of the ear, with a shorter scar at the original site of the lesion.

The second image shows the result following surgery. As healing continues, the scarring should become barely visible over the coming weeks.

Moles can change over time, which is why a single skin check doesn’t always tell the full story.

AI Mole Mapping allows our dermatology team to monitor those changes and identify anything that may need a closer look. And if a mole does need to be removed, that’s where I come in.

Scar placement with very fine sutures means there is very little to see with time.

The biggest facelift myth? 👀

Dr Dunne sets the record straight on one facelift myth he gets asked!✨

There’s no “right age” for eyelid surgery. It’s about anatomy.

I see patients of different ages with concerns around heavy upper eyelids, under-eye bags or puffiness, often influenced by genetics as much as ageing.

The most important factor is your individual anatomy. While some patients are too young as they don’t have significant changes, my aim is always a natural, refreshed result that still looks like you.

Upper bleph recovery might be quicker than you think 👀✨

While every patient heals differently, many are surprised by how manageable the downtime can be after an upper blepharoplasty. Swelling and bruising are usually most noticeable in the first few days, with many patients feeling ready to get back to life sooner than expected.

Thinking about a facelift but not sure where to start?

Here are the answers to five of the questions patients ask most often:

• How do I know if I’m ready for a facelift?
• What’s the difference between a facelift and a neck lift?
• What happens during a consultation?
• Why do some facelifts look more natural than others?
• Will people be able to tell I’ve had surgery?

If you’re considering facial rejuvenation, understanding your options is the first step. The aim of modern facelift surgery isn’t to change how you look, it’s to help you look refreshed, natural and like yourself.

One question I often get asked is what makes a facelift surgery result look natural? ⬆️

There are so many factors to this and It’s not about doing more, it’s about doing the right treatment, in the right place.

Natural results come from respecting your anatomy, maintaining balance and proportion, and knowing when less is more. The goal isn’t to change how you look, it’s to help you look like the best version of yourself.

The best work shouldn’t be obvious.

This before and after of a scalp reconstruction following a basal cell carcinoma excision involves mobilisation of nearby skin as a local flap. The aim is the same as any skin reconstruction - to achieve colour and contour match.

Every face tells a different story. As a facial plastic surgeon, I don’t treat features, I assess the underlying anatomy. Bone structure, fat, muscles, and skin all influence which procedure, if any, is the right choice. Safe, natural-looking results always begin with a thorough anatomical assessment. ⬆️
