The Burning Bright Candle

So unbelievably happy to have won best lifestyle tradestand at RHS Sandringham.

After months of building props, planning, photoshopping, painting and making, it feels like all the hard work has paid off and to be recognised against so many other incredible makers feels really quite unbelievable.

Just 2 years ago I was preparing for my village show and making literally every single pot by hand and still hand water colouring every tag. I wasn’t sure if anyone would buy anything, but they did aind have since become my regular customers. A lot has happened in the last 2 years, thousands of pots made, so many wonderful people met and still the same 6 original fragrances.

Today a lady told me my stand was ‘good for the soul’ and that is why I created what I did. I created things for the people I love, that I hoped would connect with other people and that they would love them too.

Here’s to the next two years 💓

RHS Badminton Diary 🏸

Some snippets over the last month of faffing, building, making 100’s of candles and ultimately bringing it all together into my little world.

1. Day 2 of the show, so very hot, exploring with my neighbour Atlantic Mats
2. Best show garden
3. Lights on, crowded af display, it later got simpler.
4. Beautiful bonsai
5. End of first day. Mini fan saving my life.
6. Full tour on the last day before packing up! Starbucks cup making an appearance.
7. Beautiful post from Lucinda Bassett allotment.
8. Collection of random items that I feel are necessary to tell the story of each candle.
9. 🍅 day.
10. Botanical prints with type writer descriptions.
11. Said typewriter.
12. Trays getting a glow up.
13. Mini display in the yard, endlessly sent to friends for comments 😅.
14. Plant collection. Looking the best they are ever going to look having just come from the garden centre.
15. Sewing like a mad woman.

So pleased that everything has finally come together and the little market stall has had an upgrade to a full little shop fit out!

So happy to be back with Jacqui at her wonderful store in Forest Hill.

I will also be hosting another candle making workshop, where you will pour three pinch pot candles, with your very own natural fragrance and then decorate with all sorts of lovely botanicals I will bring along. So lovely to be back at Spring market, catching up with so many lovely regular customers and seeing all the other amazing traders. We survived the frankly ridiculous wind, with even some sun 🌞

I also took along a few products I’m working on in the background to show you all, they are in the testing phase and I hope they are going to be ready soon!

Scent of Spring Workshop with come join us 🌼

Lots of people ask me how I come up with my fragrances and the answer is quite basic…I just make what I love and then hope you do too! I also always have an idea for a fragrance, it will be inspired by someone or something and my friends are generally my muses when it comes to this.

If you would like to explore making your very own natural fragrance then come join us. It will give you the confidence to go away and create, as truly there isn’t some mad secret to creating beautiful natural fragrances, it is honestly very much just trial and error.

We are also making a natural cleaning spray which I’m currently testing and loving and everything is being cleaned with it to see how well it works…and so far…it’s amazing! Not to blow my own trumpet but it’s so good I wondered if it was actually legal to sell (I checked, it’s fine and way in limits!) so that is a wonderful thing to take away too.

Large candles are finally coming to my website!

I know all the lovely people I have seen out and about have been buying them from me for the last 6 months but I haven’t ever been able to build up enough stock to get them onto the website…but that moment has finally happened!

So there you have it, 1 year since I first set about this journey. And just as these are released into the wild…I am starting on the super XL garden candles which are next level magical.

As a little welcome to the world, they are a special price for the first month and also you receive a mini version of your candle as a little thank you!

25th April 10-12pm with Bollé & Bloom, Mortimer, Berkshire.

Join us for a beautiful morning where you will create your very own natural fragrance for your home, which will then be made into a reed diffuser and scent stones for your home. You will also make my tried and tested natural cleaning spray recipe, perfect to naturally fragrance and clean your home.

All hosted by the wonderful Laura of in her absolutely stunning greenhouse, surrounded by flowers, with endless tea and coffee and homemade cake too.

It will be a beautiful morning, learning skills you can then take home and use to create your own natural home fragrance products in the future.
