🐅 My First Full Year of Burning Bright 🐅

So many lessons learnt, so many more to learn, many goals made and completely ignored, other achievements I never thought possible are coming to fruition, 2026 is starting off strong (and busy).

First up is on the 31st of January for their infamous sample sale. I’m still finalising how it’s going to work but expect epic discounts.

I also have an insanely exciting project with which is all becoming very real. More to be revealed in January, with my first venture into products beyond candles and diffusers.

Also I just want to say to anyone who has showed up events, met me, supported me, sent me lovely emails with how much you love my products, honestly every single moment is so special. Burning Bright has always been my absolute being out there in the world, I never ever created anything with any sort of commercial success in mind, I just made things for my friends that I thought they would love. And it turns out so many of you do too. I will keep that ethos in mind for 2026, so keep your eyes peeled, it’s going to be a busy one 🐝

I also forgot to add that Burning Bright became officially trademarked to me 🤓 Another milestone in this mildly chaotic journey.

Candle Making By Candle Light

With

The most gorgeous evening, where we welcomed a lovely group of people into Laura’s absolutely stunning greenhouse. Set amongst all the beautiful floristry, it’s an absolute dream location to hold a candle making workshop.

To make it extra special I brought along Christmas botanicals; cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, black spruce, to create something extra festive to keep for yourself or as a beautiful handmade gift.

It is always so interesting to see what others create with a little bit of inspiration and every time I hold a workshop I think there is at least one candle I could use to create something beautiful from.

Everyone had such a lovely time and a lovely lady emailed me after to tell me she felt like she was in a hallmark movie…I mean isn’t that the best compliment for a workshop!

Final note…it has taken me this long to post about it as partly I have been running around like a lunatic but also I couldn’t decide what pictures to post as they were all so dreamy ☁️

✨ Candle Workshop ✨

Another gorgeous evening teaching a lovely group how to make their very own bespoke candles.

No workshop is ever the same, I love seeing what inspires people. With my favourite of the evening; a scent inspired by her Grandad’s garden in Australia, with a lovely woody smell with a very small hint of rose 🥀 So special 🥹

Thank you to Jacqui for hosting, the most gorgeous shop, with new curations every few months, supporting so many small businesses it’s such a good example of what an independent shop should be.

Keep your eyes peeled, more workshops next year 🕯️

🍄 Weald and Downland Christmas Market 🍄

A place I have been visiting since a child, the old buildings reconstructed around the site is really a little bit magical, with the open fire pits in the middle of the room, the old cottage which reminded me of my house in Southsea (insane droughts and all).

Such a lovely weekend, with visitors from the inspiration behind the Nowruz candle and my lovely Mum helping on the Sunday.

Of course the rain on the Saturday was absolutely biblical but it didn’t stop you; wellies, rain coats and mud were all part of the experience.

Also thank you to my darling friend Zane, who drove after work Friday and stayed up till 2am with me, drinking wine and packing candles.

Now onto the next market, I’m a travelling circus at the moment, refusing to unpack my car and rather just keep loading more and more in 🎪

Candle Making by Candle Light with Laura ✨🌛 🕯️

Thursday 13th November, 7-9pm £60 per person

Join myself in Laura’s incredible glasshouse, for an evening of mulled wine, mince pies and most importantly, candle making!

I will talk you through how to create your very own blend of natural fragrance that you can then use to create your own bespoke candles. So far the workshops have gone down a treat, with everyone enjoying the experience so much and going away with their own beautifully bespoke candles.

You will also have a chance to decorate the candles with all sorts of beautiful natural treasures and then wrap them up ready as gifts or your very own little treat!

There are only a few spots remaining at this workshop, so get in quick! DM me for a link to book 🕯️

Meet the Makers, 6th September

This Saturday I will be joining a whole host of other artisans at Makers Barn where you can get involved with all sorts of crafts; from pot throwing to basket weaving to book binding and paper flower making, there is something for everyone.

I’m going to be there with lots of candles, but this time you can decorate your own ☺️ Having now done two candle making workshops I absolutely loved seeing how people decorated their creations so I thought it would be nice for people to have a go on Makers day.

I have all sorts of botanicals and natural treasures I have been collecting for you to pick from and tags for you to add your own messages onto with my custom stamp.

Come and have a go, live music and good food too!

🌼 Swallowfield Country Show 🌼

A wholesome weekend spent at the village country show where steam rollers, dog shows, the best tomato and classic cars all come together.

Special shout out to the wonderful village organisers who volunteer their time for free and spend all year organising, drawing in over 8,000 people.

Also my market neighbours, who started their business at age 10 and 13 (😮) and sell the most beautiful and original hand painted ceramic bird feeders. I have bought one to match my studio ☺️

There aren’t enough posts for everything that I wanted to reflect on but in all honesty it’s a good thing as this already took me far to long to make 😅

On the eve of my first market anniversary I have decided this will be my business birthday as I don’t actually have a date that I decided what I was doing was actually a real thing. It wasn’t until I put it all together and sold some stuff, in real life, to real people that it actually felt like I had something.

Since then I have sold 1000’s of candles and ultimately found something that felt natural to me and that I was actually good at.

I still have sooo much I want to do with this thing I have created and really feel like it’s barely got going yet, which is such a lovely yet mildly daunting feeling.

Here’s to the next year of seeing where this lovely little business takes me ✌🏻

And special shout out credit to:

📖 Notting Hill Pop Up 📖

There are just two days left to shop at the cutest pop up curated by the lovely Monica in the centre of Notting Hill and just a stones throw off Portobello Road.

The best location, with the chicest people wondering around and also probably the best charity shops in London (name me a better one than NH).

It’s been so wonderful to hang out with and meet so many other amazing creatives who are chasing their dreams and creating really wonderful products in the process. I don’t think I have met as many inspiring people who despite maybe working a 9-5 or living half way across the world, keep trying to make a difference with how we all shop. From making ethically sourced clothing using natural dyes, to making their own hand blown glass jewellery, there is so much delight in seeing all these unique outpourings of people in one place 💓

Since starting out and seeing the absolute VIBE that is I have been wanting to join and that day finally came!

Such a lovely day meeting so many lovely people, selling over 300 candles 😅 and all the lovely compliments from everyone I met; this business really is a little bit of me out there in the world so those compliments mean so much 🥰

Forever inspired by all the other small businesses around me who are putting in insane hours and living their dream (mostly 😅). Starting your own business is an absolute rollercoaster of emotions most of the time but I honestly don’t want to get off.

Thank you to for leaving your bubba for the day to help out, such a nice way to hang out! And thank you to Liv and Dais who run you have created something so special 💓
