Glass skin is never the goal - healthy skin is ✌🏼
This is my lovely client’s first Microneedling treatment
Microneedling works by creating controlled micro-injuries to stimulate your skin’s natural healing response and support collagen production over time. That means the goal is not instant, poreless, filtered-looking skin.
Real results look like improved texture, smoother scarring, better firmness, refined pores, and healthier skin quality gradually.
Your skin may look red, dry, tight, or flaky after treatment — and that is completely normal. Healing is part of the process.
Microneedling is about long-term skin regeneration, not chasing unrealistic “glass skin.”

Let’s talk about something a lot of people are quietly googling but not sure how to ask about: The melasma moustache. That shadow of pigmentation across the upper lip. It’s one of the most common and most misunderstood skin concerns we see.
It’s not dirt, it’s not a tan line, and no amount of exfoliating is going to scrub it away. It’s melasma, and it’s happening deep in the skin. Melasma is a form of hyperpigmentation driven by melanocyte overactivity, meaning the pigment-producing cells in your skin get triggered into overdrive and deposit excess melanin in concentrated areas. The upper lip is especially vulnerable because it’s constantly exposed to UV, heat, and hormonal fluctuations, all of which are known triggers.
That’s why it’s so common during pregnancy, while on hormonal birth control, or during perimenopause. It’s often called the “mask of pregnancy” for a reason but you don’t have to be pregnant to get it. The frustrating part? It can come back even after successful treatment if the triggers aren’t managed. This is why a proper skin consultation matters so much. Melasma needs a strategy, not just a product. Save this if you have been struggling with upper lip pigmentation and wondering where to start.
