Hair loss is one of those things where consistency matters much more than people realise.

A lot of the time, when you finally start seeing less shedding or better density, it can feel like the problem is “fixed”. But depending on the cause, especially with ongoing types of hair loss, maintenance can be just as important as the initial treatment.

That’s why I always think of scalp care as a long term routine rather than a quick intervention.

It’s also important to remember that not every type of hair loss has the same cause. Hormones, genetics, stress, nutrition, illness and scalp conditions can all play a part, so if the shedding feels sudden, excessive or unusual, it’s always worth getting proper advice.

For me, the biggest change came when I stopped treating scalp care as something temporary and started treating it as part of my normal routine.

Value is not only about what someone is willing to pay for a haircut.

It is about how our profession is seen, respected and represented.

Hair professionals invest years in education, technique, creativity, communication and understanding people. We build businesses, create careers, support communities and, every single day, help people feel more confident in the person they see in the mirror.

But recognition does not happen automatically.

The more qualified professionals stand together, register, maintain high standards and make themselves visible, the stronger our collective voice becomes.

State Registration is not about creating an exclusive club. It is about showing the scale, professionalism and credibility of our industry.

We are not here to make hair cheap.

We are here to make our profession valuable.

And if we want the industry to recognise our worth, we have to start by recognising it ourselves.

Your curls don’t need fixing. They just need the right care, the right shape and a little love.

Why did I join WELOVE Purple Hearts?

Because for me, hairdressing has always been about more than the work we create behind the chair.

It is about people, connection, education, community and constantly finding new ways to grow.
