What is Lymphoedema? Lymphoedema is a chronic, progressive swelling that can occur in any part of the body but is most common in the limbs. It occurs because the lymphatic system is struggling with the normal drainage of fluid from the tissues back into the circulation.

Dr Vodder School Ireland is grateful to all the participants who contributed to a wonderful 2 days of practical Dr Vodder MLD techniques enriched by Inspiring updates on Scar Healing from Dr Jan Douglass zoomed in from Australia, Excellent lecture on Head & Neck cancer tx from Tanja Lenk-Killinger, complimented by a brilliant presentation on Head & Neck compression from Marize Ibrahahim zoomed in from Montreal recently presented same at the ILF Conference. We also had an engaging presentation on the efficacy of MLD & accuracy of the Perikit from Dr Joseph Harfouche , Belgium and a very valuable LIPOEDEMA update from Dr Markus Killinger. All in all a very busy but wonderful 2 days. To be part of the Dr Vodder Family of Therapists is to have a network of friends world wide.

It was so rewarding teaching this great group of Sharon Wheeler's ScarWork therapists the Specialist Course in Pelvic and Abdominal Scarring. To see them take their skills to the next level, caringly work with those whose scars turned out to hold a powerful emotional charge, and be so willing to be open and supportive of each other, brought happy tears to my eyes. What a two days!

My huge thanks go to Carole Caplin and Lyn Chamberlain-Webber for their support and help during the course. Couldn't have done it without you!
