Annarita Levanti

I wrote this in May 2020, three days after my birthday, in the middle of lockdown, before my diagnosis had even fully landed. I shared it back then, on Facebook and Medium - but never here.

I found it again this morning, almost by accident, cleaning up some folders on my laptop.

I've republished it on my blog now, exactly as it was written, with a short note about where I am today.

Have you ever gone back and read something you wrote in the middle of a hard season?

How did it change who you became?

We rise together. Share your story below.😍

In 2020, my doctor said to me: "Annarita - you have trigeminal neuralgia. There is no cure.... You will live with this for the rest of your life. The pain can come and go, and when it returns is usually worse".

And I believed him. At the beginning....

Then, when intense pain and heavy medications put me wondering if a life like that would be worth living, I decided to find my way to stop that nightmare. And this is what I did.

I am so proud of myself, and I am also proud that this is now my path that can be shared with others.😍
