One night sleeping in makeup wonât wreck your skin. The habit just might
By the end of the day your skinâs dealing with makeup, SPF, oil and pollution all sitting on the surface. Sleep in that regularly and youâre looking at blocked pores, dullness and a barrier thatâs constantly playing catch up.
You donât need ten steps. Just take it off, cleanse properly, and let your skin actually recover overnight.
Send this to the friend who still sleeps in their make up.

Physical scrubs can damage your barrier, trigger redness and make pigmentation or sensitivity worse, especially if youâre acne-prone or reactive.
Chemical exfoliants are the more controlled option. Try Naturiumâs BHA for oily or congested skin, The Ordinaryâs Glycolic Acid for dullness and texture, or Medik8âs Press and Glow your skin is more sensitive.
Better skin doesnât come from doing more. It comes from doing it properly.

Crepey under-eyes arenât always an eye cream problem.
Thin skin, dehydration, collagen loss and constant movement can all contribute, which is why the right treatment depends on whatâs actually causing it.
For under-eye fine lines, I like Crystal Retinal Ceramide Eye to support cell turnover.
For puffiness, caffeine-based formulas like A.G.E. Advanced Eye can help.
But eye creams canât correct hollowness or structural changes.
For thin, crepey under-eye skin, treatments like polynucleotides or Sunekos can be used to improve skin quality, hydration and fine lines over time.
The key? Treat the cause, not just the crease.

Redness. Breakouts. Post-blemish marks that just wonât fade. One ingredient can actually target all three.
Azelaic acid. A great option is Q+Aâs Azelaic Acid Balancing Serum to calm the appearance of redness, target breakouts and post-blemish marks, and support a more even-looking complexion.
Milky, hydrating texture that sits beautifully under SPF and makeup.
Simple, effective skincare for a more even-looking complexion. | Ad
Pigmentation isnât a one-treatment fix.
Vitamin C and retinoids support the skin day to day, but once pigmentation gets stubborn, thatâs usually when in-clinic treatment comes into the conversation. Pico Laser for more precise, targeted pigment. BBL when redness and sun damage are showing up alongside it too.
The real work is understanding whatâs triggering it in the first place, then building the plan around that.
Comment âpigmentationâ if you want the most common triggers next.

If you have tiny rough bumps on your arms, thighs or bum, stop scrubbing them.
Itâs probably keratosis pilaris, also known as KP or âchicken skinâ.
KP happens when excess keratin builds up and blocks the hair follicle. Itâs not dirt. Itâs not poor hygiene. Itâs genetics + keratin overproduction.
Physical scrubs often make it worse.
They irritate the surface, increase redness and can even trigger post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, especially in darker skin tones.
What KP actually needs:
Chemical exfoliation + barrier repair.
In the shower
â Salicylic acid cleanser to help clear inside the follicle.
Q+A | 98% Natural | Ingredient-Ledâs Salicylic Acid Body Wash is a great option.
During the day
â Glycolic acid to smooth texture and reduce dead skin build-up.
Always use SPF on exposed areas.
The Ordinaryâs Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner is a classic.
At night
â Body retinol or retinal to regulate cell turnover and improve pigmentation over time.
Test Bugcrowdâs Retinol Body Lotion or Retinal Body Lotion are both solid choices.
Then within 5 minutes of showering
â Urea-based moisturiser, ideally 10â20%.
Urea softens keratin while hydrating. Look for formulas with ceramides for added barrier support. I love CeraVe SA Smoothing Cream.
If the skin is cracked, inflamed or sore, calm it first before introducing actives.
Consistency beats aggression.
KP doesnât disappear overnight, but it absolutely improves with the right routine.
Save this if youâve been scrubbing your arms for years and getting nowhere.
