Why do some people seem to age more gradually than others?

I was speaking to a patient recently who’s getting married later this year, and she said something that really stayed with me.

“I feel like I’ve suddenly aged overnight.”

The truth is, she hadn’t.

Ageing rarely happens all at once. It happens gradually, so gradually that most of us don’t notice it. Until one day, a photo catches us off guard. A reflection in a shop window. A wedding invitation pinned to the fridge.

What I’ve learnt over the years is that most people aren’t actually afraid of ageing.

They’re afraid of what it makes them feel.

Less confident.
More tired.
Less like themselves.

For me, aesthetics has never been about chasing youth or trying to turn back the clock.

It’s about helping people feel like themselves again. Refreshed. Confident. Ready for the moments that matter most.

Because the goal was never to look different.

It’s to look in the mirror and recognise the person staring back at you.
